Thats my flashman

I finally finished their ramp to the second level and after putting the bits inside the pen while I waited so they got used to running up and down the ramp before it got tilted up a bit they all seemed happy with their walk way.

In the ramp went and I put some lettuce up the ramp and a bowl of food with hay and a hidey up there. Not a lot of interest at first but as usual my flashman went exploring and found the extra veg and area. I know all 4 can use ramps as they have one in their hutch but that has a tunnel on so although I have covered that side of the pen its a bit different (can put a tunnel up as I need to see them going up and down).

This morning when I opened their door I saw flash come squeeking down the ramp at speed excited for veggie time, thats the fastest I have seen him move when I am not catching him so when I put the veg in I placed some upstairs to keep encouraging them to go up, flash went squeeking up there at a rate of knots for his private veg

I dont know how long flash will have his own private feeding room but for the time being he is certainly enjoying some time away from the bossy girls.

Oh and on the note of feeding, I discovered that minty has decided the only veg worth eating is what she has taken off flash or fudge, she doesnt dare steal out crystals mouth but will take any that are on the floor if she can manage

sadly they have all been up the ramp so flash has lost his solitude hiding place Crystal explored it as I was cleaning them out, she isnt the bravest even if she is the bossiest and she slowly chirped her way up, had a look and came back down again, minty cautiously went up and back down but fudge rushed up, jumped off the end and I thought she was going to jump right out the top of the pen, she didnt but she was having fun and popcorning away at her new den - interestingly she was up the top when crystal and got rather narky with crystal for invading her little den (and she is always pushed around by crystal), I think she was just more confident about it and took the chance to have her say.

I dont think crystal and minty will be spending much time up there, once they get used to it I will remove the igloo as its taking up too much space as its supposed to be the feeding station up there with the snuggle area down below.

Piggy life... It is always interesting to see them taking to a new extension or bit of furniture because they are such different characters! Flash sounds like he's got exactly the right name!

And we know the food snatchers! Often they are new ones or underpiggies. I think babies do it to learn what is edible from mummy and aunties. Currently Hedydd is test driving new veg that way - if she snatches it from another piggy, it is OK to eat!
