People always say that the laboratory guinea pigs are albinos, but they're not. They're really pale Himilayans. The albino chromosone "C" does not exist in the guinea pig. In every "albino" or self white guinea pig is the chromosone "CHCH". If a chocolate or black Himilayan is bred with a self white guinea pig, the skin is black, but to erase the black skin, you need the brown chromsone "J". So you breed the Himi/self white guinea pig with a brown guinea pig, you get a Himilayan with a light gray coloring in its cool points.

I've never called them "albinos" either, I likewise call them they same as daft or dark eyed whites.

most un-piggy people still call them albino's (also rats/mice/rabbits ect) a few years ago most people called them albino too, or at least the ones i came intouch with , pooh my rspca was an 'albino' piggy , thats what they called him & that was only 8/9 years ago ! you all must mix with better educated people :-\
