I don't normally do things like this but TEAS Dental sanctuary is something that is very close to my heart. One of our first piggies Pitch was a dental piggie and I remember ever so clearly the desperation I felt as her health deteriorated with dental issues.

Debbie (FurryFriends on the forum) runs a Dental Sanctuary in Northampton that takes in piggies from all over the country who have dental problems. Debbie provides round the clock syringe feeding for those piggies in her care that can't eat and gets them vital dental work done by a widely regarded expert vet in Guinea Pigs. Some piggies require weekly treatment as well as nursing back to health so the process not only is time consuming for Debbie but also costly.
Debbie funds this herself and will often receive no financial backing from the piggies owners, she does this because she deeply cares, anyone who has ever witnessed dental problems will know how frustrating and scary they can be to cope with and without Debbie's Sanctuary many Guinea Pigs would die from these problems.

The Sanctuary is facing a very real crisis of funds at the moment, so I am asking on Debbie's behalf if anyone could make a one off donation or make a monthly donation to TEAS - you would be keeping a very much needed Sanctuary open for piggies in need. She is an amazing lady who cares so deeply about piggies in her care and never turns a Piggie down for treatment.

Any donations can be made by paypal to [email protected]

Thank you for reading

I will send a small something on Monday - Debbie does such marvelous work.

I will sort things with Debbie, she is caring for my piggie Pip so very well. We are loving having two permanent fosters here so we still get our share of piggie love!

Having a dental piggy for the past 2 and a half years I am well aware this can result in tragic consequences for a piggy. We unfortunately don't have a Debbie or Simon here, but so far I have been very lucky with my vet who does a good job every month at half price. So, am happy to have sent a donation to Debbie just now.

Thank you all so much! I've been so worried recently that I was going to run out of funds, and knew I should be getting out fundraising, but also wanted to spend time with my friend, who sadly died this week. We have always managed to just about make enough to cover vet bills, and I fund everything else myself by delivering leaflets, phone books etc but it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep our head above water. We will be having another Open Day in the summer, and I really hope lots of you are able to come and meet all the extra special piggies xx

Don't understand all this paypal malarky- anything more technical than this forum is way above my head!
I'll send a cheque :)
To give a little more for no extra cost... Any idea if the donation can be 'gift aided'?
I have read so many heartwarming stories of Debbie &the sanctuary stepping in to help &often producing such wonderful success stories :)
Xx

Unsure on gift aid.

Anyone wishing to send a cheque please drop Debbie a pm for address and payment details

Thank you all for your kindness, piggie people are the best x

We are registered as a charity with the inland revenue now, but we still need to set the gift aid up. However, this can be back-dated until November 2011 so we will be contacting everyone who has donated in the past very soon, so we can look at claiming the gift aid.

Let us know in advance when your open day is Debbie & I can send you some animal keyrings bookmarks and jewellery things again.

Visited Debbie today after Star had a checkup at Simons. Having seen the many piggies she has in care it is important that we keep this service ongoing. This is not so much a rescue as a permanent home for those needing ongoing health care. Consider something you buy on a weekly basis that you dont really need. Mine was a MacDonalds meal. Now donate that amount to TEAS on a weekly basis. If 20 of us gave up a MacDonalds meal each week and donated to Debbie that would be £100 a week, approx £5000 a year. This would make a huge difference.

@sport_billy or @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary

Do you have bank details I can use to set up a standing order to you? I had meant to set one up to help support your lethal crowd at the sanctuary as they are a cause close to my heart. The work you do at TEAS is amazing and I'd love to support you in that.

We sent a PM as we would like to do the same..x

Me too.....my special dental piggie, Toby, is living the life of a king with Debbie and his three new pals....he's never been happier! I'd like to set up a regular donation, Debbie, if you could PM the bank details x

Thank you so much! Your boy is really doing so well. We are now going to go three weeks between his appointments, as Simon was so pleased with how good his teeth looked last time. Obviously living with his special little friends is very good for him! Will PM you the bank details x
