The first week of Honey and Willow's bond...

I'm not sure how many people would be interested in this but if anyone is, here is the firsts week of my two guinea pigs getting to know each other 😊

Honey and Willow firsts meet, (yes it was in the bathroom because I had no other large enough enclosed area 😂)

Honey wasn't sure at first, neither was Willow, but a few moments later and they were getting closer... IMG_9636.webp
Soon to be sharing some hay and a hidey...

Honey was now done with the introduction and being her OAP self just laid down... IMG_9650.webp
it was time to share a cage! And food!...

Before long they were relaxing together...

Willow hasn't had the easiest time since arriving with two recent vet trips (and Honey being bought along for a check over also) but she has bought Honey back to life after Honey loosing her sister and the bond they have going after a short time is amazing. She's certainly going to keep Honey young and on her feet!
 
This looks like it went really well. Lots of relaxed behavior! Congratulations!

Really enjoyed those photos, hope to see lots more of this new friendship. They are beautiful :love:

Honestly had no problems at all! Tiny bit of rumbling, and the smallest amount of teeth chattering but apart from that, I think it was a match made in heaven! Thank you, I can't wait to see how Willow's markings change as she grows! 😊

yeah, she is really unusually marked. stunner!
 
That’s a lovely story and it was great to see the pictures of the bonding.
This kind of sharing of experience is so helpful and one of the (many) reasons I like the forum so much.

They are both stunning piggies I hope they enjoy many years together

Ive only been a member for a few days and I love it here! I was so nervous about the introduction, as this was my first one I had done! But it went so well 😊 And thank you, the piggy in your thumbnail is beautiful!

Aw got to love the oldies, honey is also 6, but Willow is keeping her young! And I think most people are biased their own piggies 😊😂

Thank you 😊 And nothing fancy, just a 2x4 C&C for their cage and then a cheap play pen from Zooplus extended to be bigger my using my wall and full length mirror to block off unsafe areas 😊 X
 
Ive decided that I'm gonna to keep uploading regularly to those thread as a way for me to document their time together, I hope it's not too boring tor everyone 😂

@Tiamolly123 I'm still overwhelmed with how well it went to be totally honest! This is my first experience introducing pigs too! I was so worried, but I think honey's old age put her mothering instincts into action, and Willow was so scared when I bought her home that she was probably pleased to see another piggy 😂😊

As some of you may know, Honey will be going in for a spay to remove her ovarian cysts next Friday (14th), I'm trying to stay positive but also capturing as much of this week possible, she is old, and at the end of the day, every operation has its risks. Although I have hundreds of photos of Honey and Willow, you can never have too many! I'm hoping that Honey pulls through and more and more photos can be taken, for my sake and for baby Willow's 😊
 
Best of luck and healing wheeks to Honey, hopefully the thought of having her lovely new friend to come home to will help her get well soon x

Still concerned about her weight but hopefully it's just a blip, I topped her up with a bit of CC today so maybe that'll help 🤞 And just amazon!
