I AM WORKING ON THIS TO MAKE THE LINKS WORK; PLS B PATIENT
As suggested, I took shots of the little guy's genital area so that you can verify his sex. This was no easy task; I had to hold him with one hand and operate the camera with the other, and he feels so secure in his dog carrier that he did NOT want to come out; trying to take photos of such a tiny area and trying to hold him still enough without hurting him was a challenge.

The photos are not that good, consequently. But they may be good enough for you to identify, so I am posting the links to them, and a shot of him afterward:

Here he is after being embarassed:

He is SOOO cute, and I do think you've identified him correctly as a Boar :) hopefully others will be along to confirm as well! You are such an angel for saving him

Well he sure looks like a boar to me x)

Oh that pigture of him in the yellow carrier looking embarassed ") that is just gorgeous x)x)x)x)

Yes i think he's a boar too. You can tell if you press lightly slightly above the round bit and his naughty bits Will come popping out. Tho not sure how well he'll take that as he seems a little shy ;-) x

You have a lovely little boy! I am so glad he's l;ooking so much better already. well done you!

Yep, definitely a little boy. Could tell from the first picture, even though it was a bit blurry *deflates head* :p

He's a handsome little guy!

I agree with him being a boy- such a cutie! Have you thought of a name for him yet- are you going to keep him?

He is a real cutie, so glad he has found a good home!

I will name him if he lives through to Saturday. After a week I will figure he is going to survive. As a disabled veteran of the Vietnam era, there are times I can barely take care of myself, so I don't NEED a labor-intensive pet. YET - as I have mentioned elsewhere I'm not going to be turning him over simply so that I won't bear the burden - no one will have him who will not take care of him as well as I will. He is a joy, and the better he feels, and the more nutritious food he eats, the cuter he becomes, and the more aware of and responsive to his surroundings. I will be building him a proper hutch, you know. And if I do find a person or household who will do right by him - they will get the g.p. and the hutch and a detailed list of his likes, dislikes, and habits. If I don't - it looks like I have my first guinea pig.
