My brave little soldier, Muffin, passed away this afternoon after I came home from work to find her collapsed in her cage. I held her and spoke to her as she passed away in my arms. A little part of me thinks she waited until I was there as she made a few little squeaks when I walked up to the cage (this last few weeks of her treatment, all she's done is chatter away to me!).

Muffin was a one-in-a-million piggy. Never complained about her treatment, took it like a trooper and was raring to go right up to the last minute. She was such a fantastic piggy, piggies like her don't come along very often and I hope I'm fortunate enough to have another sooner rather than later!

Muffin was the last piggy of my original herd of five, a mini herd which gave way to allowing me to welcome SO many rescue piggies into my life over the last few years. As such, she really was special and I will miss her so much. She leaves behind my trio of golden oldies and the main herd which she was a part of up until just before she started getting sick.

To this day, one of my favourite pictures of Muffin, taken just after we welcomed our first two rescue piggies to the family and when she was sitll only a baby with mammoth whiskers!

One of the last pictures I have of her, taken before she got sick. Still rocking those whiskers.

Sleep tight sunshine, we'll miss you!

So sorry to hear your sad news. Popcorn free over the Rainbow Bridge Muffin.
Big hugs to you.

So sorry for your loss. What a wonderful piggy, she clearly had a fantastic life with you, she looks so content in those pictures. You were very lucky to have each other x

What a gorgeous girl.
And what extraordinary whiskers

So sorry for your loss, but how wonderful that she paved the way for so many others.

I am so sorry for your loss! What a wonderful tribute to a special girl! The last is always a hard one, as you do not only lose one piggy, but the direct link to all her mates. It usually feels to me like I lose them all over again.

RIP Muffin

Huge hugs hugs, I am really sorry for the loss of your stunning little lady. You had such a wonderful bond, she'll stay in your heart forever.

Sleep well little one

RIP Muffin

I'm so sorry. She was a beautiful pig and obviously very loved. It's always sad to lose the last of an original group... I felt like that when Linney (last of my original pair) passed. Besides missing her, it was like the end of an era. :( ((HUGS)) to you.
