I was thinking of piping into my piggy hutch some very low level Mozart for 15 mins a day. I`m fixing a bady monitor camera to record the effects.

Research has shown that young children learn better when they listen to Mozart for 15 minutes a day. It has come to be known as `The Mozart Effect`. It may relax your nervous piggies and make then more trusting or more intelligent. Who knows, they may learn a little party trick.

However, it should be remembered that it is in their survival nature to jump and run when hearing and seeing something unusual and sudden so I`m not hopeful. I`ll keep you informed of my findings.

Will be veryinterested to hear the results of this our guineas have music in the shed but more local radio I thinkthe song choices are better O0 they do sometimes get classic fm for a bit of variation.

Gosh this should be interesting :o :o :o :o

Our boy is fine with most noises in the house even loud tv and music mmmmmmmmm he's learnt that from the kids ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) but if the birds outside make a warning noise he goes beserk :o :o :o and runs for cover at the moment :(

I think if i was there i'd be calmed down and go to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz also :smitten:

Hi,
We have three indoor piggies who definitely respond to music. Both of my children play the violin - and it is amazing to watch the boys popcorning and wheaking when they like a tune. Their preference is for lively music - irish gigs etc and the faster the better, however we did provide bed and breakfast for my mother's boys and one of them got really excited about scales and arpeggios.

they definately respond to music. about an hour ago heath was singing to jimi hendrix! :o

I'm not joking either!

I teach the piano from home, with my two piggies in the kitchen on the other side of the wall. They don't seem to mind in the least, and settle down to sleep when the first pupil arrives! When they're free ranging in the lounge and I'm playing they will sometimes come and sit under the piano stool. Very touching!

i usually have BBC radio Norfolk on in the shed when i'm their for while cleaning etc maybe i should stick on classic fm for a while and see!
i know the Mozart effect is certan symponies etc can never remember which ones! ::)
Good luck thou
