they are fab ones spitting image of the mummy love the colours of the darker one . and what a fab pic of your dog with you piggie thanx for sharing such lovely pics with us
 
Such beautiful pics. Love the ones with the dog and the baby piggies are just scrumptious. Must say i'm rather smitten with mummy pig too, she's gorgeous! x)x)x)
 
The babies are stunning, especially the little Choc one!

Gosh your dog must be very well trained to have a piggy so close and not hurt it.
 
it seems highly inappropriate and unsafe for a dog to be having contact with piggies like that especially one who has just gone through the stress of giving birth.A dog can turn at anytime and kill a piggy before you could even put that camera down x

Your dog is great and those pic are wonderful, but be very careful - accidents can happen all too easily.
 
Misty, the dog has been friends with Olivia far before the birth. We keep misty at bay while they are outside eating grass, we do not want her with Olivia to much because of the stress she has had.

But that is not our decision, Olivia lays on her side between Misty's arms and enjoys to be there with her getting licked. We move her away from misty, but she just keeps going back to her. She sits there with her and eats grass, both eat grass lol and both keep an eye on the babies, we never let them be alone with the dog, she is very well trained and watches them so well and is very easy with them.

It has been over a week since her birth, Boris she is okay and loves it, if any she gets stress released just sitting there with the dog while her two kids eat grass a little away from her lol.

Thanks for the concerns, but everything is fine and this will also get her babies to trust misty and also for misty to be good with smaller piggies.
 
Awwwww they are so cute. Your dog must be so good. My parents dog Willow thinks that little animals are puppies and sniffs and licks them but only while we are holing them. She once got out into the garden when my sister was trying to catch her rabbit and we were worried Willow would hurt Misty the rabbit trying to catch her. Willow just put her paw on Misty like dogs do to naughty puppies but even so we are still careful as she can sometimes get overexcited. Maybe your dog thinks piggies are puppies too, awww :)

some nice pictures of your piggies,like the one with the dog,anyway,
below is my dog Tallulah with her best ever friend Jigsaw,she was brought up with him and other guineas and although Jigsaw has crossed the bridge she loves each and every one of the mighty herd,if they would only acknowledge her she'd be over the moon.

all i was saying was its just not the smartest idea putting a dog and a piggy near each other and the big difference is your dog is a king charles cavalier that is barely the size othe the piggy.lulu's dog is mix of pitbull/boxer and doberman not the best breeds to be playing with a guinea pig considering from boxers and pitbulls alone there are so many attacks.Pitbulls in so many places are a banned breed for a reason,all I'm saying is i have known many other peoples dogs brought up with kids/cats/rabbits/piggies and most of them have attacked one of the animals at some point! is it really worth the risk of losing your pet?not much point in trying to help anyway i guess you will have to find out the hard way like i did x
 
Yes those breeds have bad reputations, but I dont understand why anyone believes that since it has pitbull or rottweiler or boxer ect. the dog is going to eat everything it sees moving.

Its how you train them and how you love them, they say that the ones with all different breeds are the best dogs you can get.

She is a pup and she may not be fully smart about everything, we all trust her, and she loves the guinea pigs. She whines if we are holding them and they are not in her reach.

She never jumps, never barks at all or whines to loudly. She is never fast and running and romping around like she does with other dogs/puppies.

She is a totally different dog when they are on her level of ground, she does baby steps if she must walk, but normally, she never does only when we tell her to do so.

I'm not going to learn the hard way, nothing will happen, because it would have happened already when she was younger and when they first met, which she was the same way she is now, each day becoming more and more gentle. Even rolling onto her back and them running on her belly.

My guinea pigs feel the safest between her arms, and when they dig under her arm pit, she does not freak out and squich them, just watches and doesn't move.

Boris i know your concerned but again, nothing is wrong, people have done this with great danes I'm sure. Misty understand their limits and the guinea pigs love her.

It is obvious by the pics that the guinea loves being with your dog and as they say you cant choose who your babies are friends with. :)) xx

I know what people are saying regarding dog breeds etc not being left with small animal and the likes but do agree that its the way the dog is trained/taught thats the key,going back many years in time we had a single piggy called Turbo who really enjoyed his garden time as he used to run about with my sons rabbit,no they didnt live together,we had a German Sheppard at that time and he loved them both,it was so nice to see the guinea pig being followed by the rabbit who was being followed by our cat who was being followed by the dog,a piggy train or what...

tillythepig i know what you mean. Doesn't matter what the dog breed is, its what the dog is personally.

Take this for example, Golden Retrievers, black labs, poodles, ect. all those nice friendly dogs you'd think would never harm a human let alone another pet.

Golden Retriever attacks infant and bites him 4 times.

I think how your dog reacts to other pets is to do with the training they have... You are obviously calm owners which is why your dog is calm around your pigs... I would be too anxious so wouldnt even try that but i think its lovely to see... There are not many dogs who would mother another species but when you get one its a great thing...:)
I think mixed breeds like your dog are the best to have because they usually get the best of all the breeds rolled into one!

Pitbulls are naturally protective dogs and are not called "nanny dogs" for nothing... You just need to realise what kind of dog you have and treat them accordingly.
Pitbulls are banned only because they always end up in the wrong hands and it is THEM who cause the problems resulting in attacks because their owners are too stupid to realise what they have.

Its the owners who are at fault for dog attacks and NOT the dogs...

Going back on subject the pictures are lovely!x) There is always something cute about a baby piggy having a chomp :))

Totally agree about the different breeds of dogs/owners. Our x breed is fine with the piggies whilst our staffie & our lhasa would love to have a munch-given half a chance!
 
Thanks everyone for all your kind words and agreeing with me about dogs.

jane28 i loved your post, couldn't have said it better myself. Its not the breed its the people that beat them with newspapers, force them to fight each other, most often than not the dog doesnt want to fight and is forced and if he does not fight he is killed by the owner a lot of times...

Well the one that is a boy is named Tommy in memory of our friend Tommy who's funeral we went to the day they were born.

Now onto the girls name, has to be something special... she is so cute! xoxo
