At the moment, I'm back to fleece as a bedding. I was hoping that maybe Billie could spend a short time per day without paw wrap on fleece, because the vet said that the paw shouldn't be wrapped up to tight. Doesn't work unfortunately. At the moment the paw starts bleeding no matter what surface Billie is walking on.
But she is really good about the paw wraps for now.
With fleece I'm back to spot cleaning twice a day. My piggies are great at pooping and peeing, so the pads with the absorbant layer need changing twice a day (in some spots once a day). This morning, I started by locking the piggies out. Yesterday they 'helped' me from inside the cage ... today they had a lot of fun runing between my feet and inspecting all their hideys that I put beside the cage to work inside.
So I was busy getting the wet pads out, picking up all poops, not getting the hay everywhere, not stepping on the piggies, putting the clean pads inside, putting the hideys back inside, not stepping on the piggies. And suddenly Vicky was inside the cage.
I must have picked her up with one of the hideys without noticing. Don't have any idea how this happend, but I was a bit shocked by the thought that she could have jumped out from whereever she was sitting while this thing was in the air.
Luckily, nothing happen, but bit more gray hair for me.
And at 9:30 in the morning I would have been ready to go back to bed.
