Wow it has been a long time hasn't it.
I've been so busy co admining another forum just to have a fall out and feel lost. SO with out farther ado some much needed updates.

For those interested in back reading about my pigs I have a blogspot blog called: The Schimpf pigs. I don't know if I can link it so just PM me if you want it or google blog spot and the schimpf pigs.

Here is bios of all the pigs:

Once upon a time there was a lovely woman who live in a small house, with a lovely husband and lovely kids. One day she walked into a pet store and her life has never been the same again.

Being a cavy slave has been enriching but hard. Guinea pigs are not like hamsters or gerbils, but more like a cat or dog when it comes to personality! Life will never be the same, so with out further ado, here they are:

Eve:

Approx. Age: 5 years
Sex: Female
Adoption date: September 27 2009
Bio:
Eve is a very friendly guinea pig always cuddling when out. She allows my kids to pet her while in the cage. She is our fatso, weighing in at 1200g she loves to eat. Eve can see very little as she has cataracts, she also has a limp due to arthritis in her left front paw.

Clover:

Approx. Age: 2 years
Sex: Female
Adoption date: October 9 2008
Bio:
Clover was my first guinea pig gal, before her I fostered boys for a small animal rescue. She is top pig and will let anyone know it. She is also a mother. While away for holidays our pig sitter put our foster boys in with out girls when they cleaned out cages. Clover ended up having three pups.

Clover was adopted from PetSmart after her first owners had brought her back with head trauma and a broken back leg. She ended going in for surgery to have her leg fixed and than we adopted her.

Yaya

Approx. Age: 2 years
Sex: Female
Adoption date: November 29 2008
Bio:
Yaya came from us from PetSmart as a cage mate for Clover. At that time I fostered but no shelters had females. Yaya is my Diva. She hates to be picked up and has bitten my nose when I've given her kisses. She is has never liked to snuggle. But even after all this I still love her.

Buttercup

P8180130.jpg

Approx. Age: 1.5 year
Sex: Female
Adoption date: Born in my house Aug. 4 2009
Bio:
Buttercup is going to be the next in line for being boss. She loves to push everyone around, but mostly her favorite pig to boss around is her twin sister Pixie. Buttercup has pretty pink eyes and loves her cuddle cups and cozies.

Pixie

P8180117.jpg

Approx. Age: 1.5 year
Sex: Female
Adoption date: Born in my home Aug 4 2009
Bio:
Pixie is the bottom pig, but that doesn't stop her from being the silliest piggy in the group. She has a popcorn and run around time every night at around 8. During this time she popcorns madly and runs around the cage like a mad pig. She is also the first pig to learn to come and stand on the side of the cage for treats.

Mojo

Approx. Age: 1.5 year
Sex: Male
Adoption date: August 4 2009
Bio:
Mojo is my pancake boy. He is not fixed there for he doesn't live with the girls but in a nice big 2x3 C&C cage in my daughters room. He loves getting scratches and pets. Hes a big boy and knows it.

Reko

P2150009.jpg

Approx. Age: 5 weeks old.
Sex: Male
Adoption date: Feb. 15 2011
Bio:
Reko, our newest addition, has already shown that he could be a wonderful pig. Only a few days in our house and he's already coming up for pets. He still has a lot to learn about veggie as all he wants is carrots.

Recently departed:

Yesterday (02/20/2011) at 10AM SweetPea passed on to better grasslands.

Last August I was looking at the website of our local SPCA when I spotted a beautiful white pig named Rosie. I talked with my husband and told him that she looked so sad, she needed to become a Schimpf pig.

Continued below.....

When she came to us she had really bad mites.

But you could see in her eyes that she was a fighter.

Over the months she healed well from the mites and became a special Schimpf pig.

Yesterday we noticed that she was having troubles peeing. Bladder stones again, but I knew this would be the last time as she had never had this much problem before.

This morning I went down and her was breathing shallow. She was still trying very hard to poo and pee. I wrapped her in a towel and brought her into my bed. There I told her it was ok, that it was time to let go and that on the other side there would be no pain. She looked up at me and I am very sure the look she gave me said ok. 5 mins later she did let go and passed away in my arms.

She was always the first to wheek for veggies in the morning. The First to comfort me when I was having a bad day. She was my little SweetPea.

Good Buy sweet girl, I will miss you.

My most recent cage setup.
Please note that the sides are 4.5 inches high, and that if you have easily spooked pigs or young pigs I would not suggest make sides this small.

Its a 2X6 on top with two 2x3s on the bottom.

Thats my cage set up for now.

Well its nice to have some time to post again. I look forward to seeing some old faces.

Awwwwww what lovely photos of piggies and set ups they're lovely! :)) welcome back! I dont know if you know me but I'm laura joined last summer and has very quickly turned into a piggieholic! :))

Well hi Laura, I know so many Laura's, I'm not going to say for sure if we have met but I'll say hi anyway. My name is Erin for those who don't know :D

Pigs have that effect, turning up from law abiding citizens to piggie slaves willing to fight an old lady for the last head of lettuce *laughs*.

Reko is a sweetheart! I am so happy that Mojo and him are getting along. Mojo as you can see from the photo, is my baby. He doesn't run from pets in the cage, he doesn't run when you pet him, he is just a good suggle mommy suck and it seems that Reko is learning a lot from him.

I keep my pigs down stairs when its all open space. If I wanted I could make it another 2 feet long. But then I would need to go out and buy new fleece. *laughs* Like I need a reason to buy new fleece... now that is addictive! *laughs*
