My living room piggies are getting more and more badly behaved at veggie time. Even Honey has started to join in. They are free range but have their veggies in the C&C and so when I am chopping they alternate between sitting in the cage and standing shouting at the kitchen door. Then when I put the veggies in they all stand on top of each other to try to grab what is in my hand first, Izzie has even learnt to do flying leaps to try to grab it. The little ones are so mean to poor Johnny too, if he makes the mistake of staying in the cage they use him as a step and put their paws on his back to try to gain some height to grab the veggies so the poor thing is pinned to the floor. They try and do it to Gertie too but she freaks and has to wash where they have touched her, she ended up stuck on her back the other day with her head in the pigloo lol.

Buzz and Woody are so well behaved in comparisson apart from Buzz chattering his teeth at me as soon as he thinks I should be awake in the morning until I get out of bed and start chopping rolleyes

Anyone else want to share their veggie time stories?

Bailey can hear me chopping it up, she's learnt the sound of the chopping board! Even though she is outside under the car port, she can still hear it through 2 doors, and I can hear her! Once she gets started, Breeze then starts, and then all the others. Buddy just wheeks whenever he sees somebody!
Nova always sneaks in when I put the veggies in and tries to steal her favourite - the other day she tried dragging a huge chunk of corn on the cob into her pigloo - it was too heavy for her, but it was so funny watching her! :)) When Luna tried to share, she was least impressed!

Awwww, Nova with the corn sounds like my hamsters trying to get their seed sticks into their beds. Cam't believe Bailey can hear you chopping from that far away, very impressive.

Mine are alll very well behaved if a bit sneaky and noisy!

Mine are little wotsits, well the small ones are, especially the PEW double act of Maddie and Izzie.

Haha this makes me laugh!

My pair are cheeky...they are free range so as soon as they hear the fridge door open the wheeeeeking begins...then your hear the paws and the next thing I know they are in the kitchen under my feet wheeking away.

Not the same shambles as you have as I only have two piggies but the make me laugh every morning :)

Wow love it wish my boys were free range, when did you start them being free? My boys squeal when they hear the fridge door now & popcorn all around their cage... I've only had them a fortnight so they're getting more excited by the day!

Lol, thanks for that it cracked me up! Especially the flying leaps! They sound like a fab little bunch of piggies :))
My boys have recently started standing on the hind legs to try to reach my hands - but only in the evening because they have learnt I often bring treats in the evening! They usually squeak when I start rustling the veg bags and chopping it all up :)

The only way I can stop my 32 piggies from stampeding at veggie time is to quickly scatter the veggies all over the floor in the run. Not very hygenic I suppose but if I put them in a dish they tip them all out and stand all over them anyway, and in any case they love to forage about.

Monty if hungry has worked out a way to get me out of bed - he does an awful raspy sound that he knows I hate and makes me run to the fridge for his breakfast/tea/a snack if sir is hungry:))

He runs up and down in his cage when you appear with food.

I prepare breccy the night before and keep it in his dish in the fridge as he demands he is fed before anything else as soon as I get up.

If I'm going to be late in I have to get Mum to feed him, left a note today as I was at the student disco so working late. Mum does tend to spoil her fave Monty when I'm out.

He is a right fussy one - if you do not cut his carrot up small enough he ignores it, cucumber now has to be cut in half too, and he grumbles if he does not get his daily mint or basil - hard to find in recent bad weather.

We have to scatter to and there's only 7 of them, they fight too much over bowls.

Alison, Monty sounds like Gertie with her coriander, and Woody too come to think of it.
