mutton chops

Bee-Bop and Mellonie both have stripes on thier noses. Not quite like scabs, it looks like a stripe where theres not much hair, and somthing white/yellowish sort of.. growing there lol. sorry i cant think of a better way to explain!

There was a thread about the same problem a while back but i cant find it now. I think they said it was something fungal, and that it wouldnt hurt them, but its getting worse and is looking a bit weird now. I cant remember what was said about what to do about it so i hope you guys can help!

It's called Cheilitis or something similar, several of mine have it. It is fungal, so something like Daktarin cream for athlete's foot is often used, but hopefully someone can shed more light on it!

Tea-tree cream is supposed to work too, you can get a pet friendly version of this

If it's a fungal problem get in touch with Chrissie at Gorgeous Guineas. I have recently had a guinea with a severe fungal problem and Chrissie has been great. I have been using Lavendar and Myrhh lotion on his face and it has cleared up beautifully.

I agree, www.gorgeousguineas.com - Chrissie is marvellous and very helpful. I've got a piggie with this and it's not bothering him, but I've got the Galen's Garden Green cream (either from Galen's Garden or Gorgeous Guineas) and it's doing the trick :)

It's a fungal nose stripe, my Hamish gets one esp in winter time - i put a bit of canesten cream on it which sorts it :)

I agree with the Gorgeous Guineas recommendations - Chrissie was such a great help to me when one of my piggies had a fungal infection. He's so much better now :)

Could it have been this thread about Ben's nose?

This is him after a week of treatment, twice a day with GG cream back in October...cleared up entirely after about 10 days.

I have heard it called chelitis and a fungal nose stripe. Lottie had one polished off at the CCT a year or so ago (it had been there for a very long time). It looks like a bobbly, ultra dry skin, almost 'stitched' effect.

I'm sorry, I know these pics are for the purpose of medical determination, but my goodness those pigs are all just gorgeous!

CCC4, that one of your piggie in the sink reminds me so much of the faces my Dylan pulls, it's so cute x)

Yeah thats the one Minty and Garry (sorry i dont know your real name!). I had literally found it just before i checked this thread lol!
CCC4 thats just what it looks like :) And Lottie is very pretty.
I'm not sure if i have some GG cream, i think i have, but if not I'm gonna buy some.
Thanks Everyone!

I've noticed that 'Ginger' one of my boars has had this funny stripe on his nose for a few months now - looks like the same sort of thing.:)
