This morning when I got Thea out for her morning cuddle, she was blowing bubbles out of her nose. I took her to the new vets where the lovely vet lady gave her a thorough examination and said that she has a URI. She also said that it was good that Thea's lungs are clear. Thea pooped like the Diva she is and the vet commented on the amount of poop that Thea produced. Then Thea did a massive wee on the table too just to show her displeasure at being at the vets. Thea has 5-10 days of Baytril. She took the first dose OK so hopefully, like The Ever Beautiful Betsy, she loves the stuff.

I felt very welcome at the new vets and I felt like I mattered and so did Thea. I never got that at the old vets.

Oh Thea, I hope she gives the nasty bugs a licking. She is so precious 💞 Get better soon sweetie. It's fantastic that your new vet is so good 👍

I hope Thea gets better quickly and doesn't need the Baytril for too long.
It's so good when you can find a good vet you get on with. We've had quite a few changes lately which worried me but both the new vets have been brilliant. I can tell if they are piggie people these days by how they handle them, especially the oldies.

Healing wheeks to Thea from my boys ❤️ hopefully she is another rare piggie who likes baytril! The new vets sound lovely, a much better experience for you

Dignified Sir George says enjoy the yummy baytril!
Both boys send healing rumbles ❤️

Ah dear lovely Thea I hope she gets better asap ❤️
Your new Vets sound great and well done for sorting a new practice after the awful situation before
I’m glad you’re happier with them 🥰

I need to get Thea Fibreplex for the Baytril as after only 2 doses it's affecting her tum. Which one do I get? I can find Protexin for Rabbits is that the right one? I've never given Fibreplex before. Also it says that its 1ml per 1kg of bodyweight 3 times a day. Thea is 865g as of this morning. Will 1ml be too much if I give it twice a day?

Can the vets prescribe you some? I've used it in the past and it seems to be tolerated well.I'm guessing Amazon don't sell it? Bless her, baytril can be quite harsh on the gut.

The vet didn't give her Fibreplex or even mention it. Amazon sell it so I can get it by tomorrow. Not considered poop soup as Misty and Bramble aren't poop queens like Thea is.

That's a shame,Kim at the cat and rabbit clinic recommended poop soup for one of my previous pigs when they were poorly and on antibiotics.I dont think you need loads to be honest.

I would have to put Misty or Bramble in piggy prison until they produce poop. Not sure how they would feel about that.

I bought Fibreplex from Hyperdrug a few years ago.
It’s supposed to taste like carrot but I didn’t personally try it.
I mixed it in with the CC syringe food.

Hope Thea gets better quickly and good for her demonstrating how well her guts are working.
It’s a generous act to donate so many poops, and wee as well.

Glad the new vet is proving to be so good

Thea still has a runny nose after 10 days of Baytril though it's not thick and snotty like it was when she was blowing bubbles. I'll phone the vet tomorrow (different branch) to see if I should carry on with the Baytril.
