I got my fluffies a lovely new hutch yesterday, it's the kind with a run underneath and a ramp down. The problem is, I don't think they know how to use the ramp! ? I put them in the run yesterday, then back to bed again, then back out again today but they haven't tried to do it themselves. I even tried putting treats on the ramp but no luck.

You're doing all the right things, just stick with it! They may well be a little confused by their new surroundings so just give them time to settle in and lots of gentle encouragement and I bet they will get to grips with the ramp in no time at all!

i got my 3 piggies a new hutch like yours a few weeks ago , star and toffee have been up and down the ramp since day one but maisy wouldn't attempt it, even though she is used to a ramp in their other hutch which is their night time hutch in the shed.I was putting her up and down myself, but She finally went up yesterday HOORAY, about time, they will do it eventually.

It took my piggies a couple of days or so to get their confidence up to use the ramp, as they didn't know what it was at first ;) I tried the trick of putting parsley half way down it, but that didn't tempt them at first, so I decided to modify the ramp in case they thought it was a bit too steep. I secured those fiddlesticks (?) that you can get from the pet shop to the ramp, to ensure that there were no gaps etc they could fall down, now they love it :smitten: and keep racing up and down it :)

yes the ramp on ours is quite steep, and quite high, so my oh put panels along the sides of the ramp to keep them from falling off.also put more treads along it, as they were very widely spaced apart, no problems now.

i stapled chicken wire with small holes to my ramp very tightly and the girls got the hang of it quickly
