I have perspect that i put in when it gets cold, in the window well last night it fell out , and they have eaten the plastic wrap that was on it!

they ave not shown any signs of a problem?

why do guineas do this when there is hay and food to eat, when something they shouldn't have falles near or in there cage :'(

I do not know why but piggies seem to love plastic. If your piggies have definately swalllowed any plastic give them 1ml of olive oil or liquid paraffin. This will help flush the plastic through the system and stop it sticking and causing an obstruction.

Oh they are funny things. Cuzzy has been eating newpaper and fleece so much so that I've had to ditch the newspaper and put him and Eccles just on Fleece and change daily!

Hope pigs will be ok! They are always on the munch!

must be low just sat out there and sobbed :-\ just couldn't go through the whole sick pig thing again

Just how big are the bites? mine nibble their igloo all the time but you if they have swallowed the plasice in a big chunk then use olive oil, maryh how does the liquid parrafin work? isn't tht the stuff u use for toses little candle thingys (not tht in dissagreaing with you)

Ok the sheet of perspects is 2ft by 1 and is covered in a protective plastic they've eaten all but a small fist size is left :(

The liquid parrafin works the same as the olive oil but is a bit stronger.I would only use this if I suspected a lot of plastic(especially the thin cling film type) had been digested.Otherwise I prefer to use the olive oil

explain the sitation to the vet and see what he has to say don't take action by your self your piggies could be alergic to anything you give them. check with your vet first thing tomorrow.

Hi them, hope they are all OK ....not having a very good day are you Hun
love and hug S xx

hi no not really but it is so not as bad as yours has been. how are things?

He's sitting rather "stiffly" in the chair ...zonked out of his head on painkillers...how's charlie?

IN bed asleep but i think he is getting there, his temp didn't go up past 38 this evening so i will see how he is in the morning and if is up off to the quack we go, but i am not sending him to school tommorrow,

why you not on MSN this evening

Have you spoke to the vet yet? keep him warm if his temp aint 38 degrees centegrade

I take it there were no ill effects from the plastic......

no not at all you know sometimes i think those pigs have a guardian angle, some of the things that have happened in the past?

Mine have somehow, god knows how, but managed to get the bag of hay down on the odd occasion and eaten part of the bag. They've always been OK. I suppose if they've chewed it up it will pass through. Suppose the worry would be if they eat a long stringy bit which gets wrapped round something inside.

thats good to hear (if they are ok) tyipical of piggies being greedy lol
