This piggy arrived on Saturday, the poor boy is so thin, I can get my fingers right around his tummy. His front teeth are uneven and he has spikes on his molars which are sticking into his cheeks :(. He is only 9 months old and is very nervous when in his cage, although he does love a cuddle when you finally manage to catch him.

We are going to run a name the piggy competition to try and raise some funds to cover his treatment

Aww bless! I wish I could take on another boy to go with my two!

Awwwwww what a handsome chap! Hope he feels better soon! x

He's lovely. Poor thing, I hope he is much better soon.

What a sad little face. Who could resist him. I'm assuming the teeth problems are down to lack of hay if he's under weight aswell? Lets hope he puts on weight and becomes a lovely little happy chunky pig soon.

Awww he is so cute poor little man :(

Aww what an adorable little guy. How someone could let him get in that state is beyond belief. Hope he gets better soon and sending healing vibes his way.

OH the poor little man what a terrible start he's had :...
Hope you can sort out his toofies and he starts to enjoy munching on hay and veggies really soon :)

I dropped this little piggy of at the vets this morning, to see if they can do something with his teeth and to see the extent of the soars in his mouth.

hope you don't mind my asking but how much does treatment for this young lad cost?

I have no idea yet, but it won't be cheap.

Aw, beautiful x)
Are you fostering him ? Feel treats on their way the weekend if so :))

Yes I have him, you will love him. x)

I have no idea as I was really well cared for in a way as he had hay, and veggies everyday. The people that handed him over loved him very much and it was really hard for them to say goodbye. I know that doesn't excuse his issues but...

It makes me so angry when owners can't be bothered to take a pet to a vet! They should have noticed a long time ago that something was not right.

Best of luck for the little boy!

Any updates? :)

I have been thinking about this little chap. Perhaps he has an underlying health problem?

I know of one case where an uninformed owner fed apple rather than veggies and this lead to the piggy getting a sore mouth.

I'm rooting for the little chap!

Poor piggie, he's beautiful. Hope he gets well soon

x

How is little fella doing - did you take him to Sally ? She is an amazing vet, all the staff there are lovely and friendly. Sooo glad we took your recommendation :)) for our boys neutering.
Will this chappie have to have critical care or something for his dental ? Don't know much about this only what I have read but if he does need anything like this, I will be more than happy to provide ?/ I could order asap if you need anything and drop off (have to meet him x))

We have decided to call him Dexter, we nearly lost him yesterday (they struggled to wake him up) and I would have hated for him to go without a name. :(

He is back home now and doing ok, he is only 625g so the most important thing at the moment is to get him to eat. Luckily he will eat parsley and greens by himself so he is able to eat. We are syringe feeding pellets, every few hours so at least he is having something else. He won't eat the recovery food at all, but luckily he seems to like the excel. :)

I haven't actually spoken to the vet about him yet, so I don't know the extent of his problems, but he is back at the vets tomorrow, so I will know more then.

He loves a cuddle Tracey. x)
