I was sitting in the garden this afternoon and let my dutch Tim have free reign of the whole space as I like to do when I'm out there too, and I noticed when he was facing away from him that his man parts (technical term, willy) was slightly resembling a caulifour and out more than it normally was.
After scrambling around the garden to catch him again after just putting him down, I investigated further and found a fair amount of smelly smeg once I had pushed his penis out. He nor I were particularly enjoying the process, he was wheeking pitifully whenever I cleaned him with a wet blue cloth, but once I gave him a bottom bath and cleaned as much as I could, the outside of it is still hanging out more than normal.
Is this a time for vet? Or just daily baths in salt or whatever to keep him nice and squeaky clean? He seems ok in himself - his poos have never been as solid as my other boars, but they dont seem to have changed recently.
Thanks

It sounds normal. Semen can build up up around the penis and it is very smelly, so you will need to clean out his bits occasionally.

Some boars have "cauliflower willies" and it is nothing to worry about.

is his penis still out of its sheath? (I assume that's what you were describing) - a solution of water and sugar can sometimes get it to retract, if you can, mix some up and drip it over the penis with a syringe.

If this doesnt work, you'll need to keep it moist with some water based lubricant (e.g. KY jelly, NOT anything oil based like vaseline) and see a vet.

I wouldn't say it is his penis exposed, more the sheath outside of it 'flopping' out slightly, like excess skin. I might take a photo just to be on the safe side when I check on him later.

If it looks like this it's Cauliflower willy. Nothing to worry about just keep him clean and check for any stuck hay or hair and gently pull it out.

Ah yes it's similar to that, not even that bad to be honest. Looks like I'm still paranoid over his infection he got from his neuter.
Clearly he feels I'm not paying him enough attention
Thanks all :)
