I think they have been watching too much Doctor Who. Next there will be a rift in Cardiff! :D
 
I saw that in the paper yesterday. What worries me is that, from watching endless episodes of Star Trek, Stargate et al. any black hole, no matter how small, is bad news. Forget the time travel aspect, a "rip in space time" is just asking for trouble!
 
Very disturbing! I think if we were meant to be able to time travel then we'd all be able to do it naturally in the first place.
 
There is a black hole in the middle of the Milky Way but thankfully it is dormant! ;D

Yeah but you have to remember that they could find out what sort of element a black hole contains, and they could use another element against it to stop it from crushing. I don't believe that you'll be able to time travel, but I do believe if you go through a black hole, pop through another universe and I recon there will be another life form. We CANNOT be the only life form if you think about it, it would be... ridiculous.

Not necessarily, it's not like we can just think 1879 and you pop out there, humans aren't a time traveling machine.

Throughout humanity since the beginning we've used machines to help us yes, so we'd need a machine to help us time travel. Kinda logical if you think about it

Having seen a UFO I know we aren't the only life form in this universe. :)

What about Parallell worlds?
 
I haven't researched parallel worlds, I don't quite know what it is.

But you know like Area 51, how there was a thing about it being a camp where they 'made aircraft' or something and it got out that they had aliens there, well, you may think I have an over active imagination, but thats a good thing, what if the government ARE keeping something from us? (I'm not saying they are, I'm not saying they aren't, I just like to keep and open mind)
 
Yep i'm being opened minded i just feel that the more we learn the more i tend to question .....

I never watched Area 51, I did about it in high school and wrote a 2 page essay on it and got a C :D

The more I learn about everything we've discussed in here, the more I wanna know! Before I die in like decades to come, I wanna know if its possible to time travel, I mean think about it, 20years ago you people wouldn't even of heard of Personal Computer, up until yesterday I didn't know scientists where trying to time travel and stuff :| 10 years aint long, the world of technology evolves ALOT in 10years
 
Time travel is impossible. Simple as. There would be recorded cases of it already if that was true.


The more worrying thing is that project could wipe us out if two atoms collide...
 
yes i think time travel is impossible too, though i wish it was true, you could get your pension go back in time to the shopping, petrol and pop back to your normal time. but like others i do keep an open mind like as in aliens and other life forms and in angels , ghost and the metaphyiscal etc. i have an open mind on these things and i am interested in them. it is like walt disney electing to be frozen believing they would find a cure for cancer. anything can be possible all you have to do is believe and be open minded. if you go back 200 years like when jane austen or the bronte's were alive they would never have believed in plumbing, electricty, cars, planes, type writers or PC's to name a few. things are always changing so you just never know. :-\ :-\ :-\
 
You can't say it doesn't exist or is impossible because

(Note, I am not being horrible here, its just fact)

A) scientists are smarter than any of us here (Wish I was a scientist)

B) You have no proof

C) theres an article on it, where scientists are attempting to try it

D)... Look how much the world of technology has evolved since the 50's, its extreme, another 50 years and we'll have hover cars that run on water (That was abit OTT but you get my drift)

Technology time travel, time travel where you click your fingers and appear there yes it impossible, but i'm on about technology time travel heehee
