hi all

ii used normal hay for bedding for my 2 guineas but i also use timothy hay for them to eat but a few friends of mine use meadow hay for there guineas to eat is this ok ? is it the same or ?

It's just a matter of personal preference. Both timothy hay and meadow hay are suitable for guineas. Personally, I only feed timothy hay, but I know lots of people that feed meadow hay instead.

Both are fine i personally feed different hays, for general use i buy a bale from my local farm store but i also feed timothy and meadow hay aswell as readigrass as they are different coarseness so work the teeth, keeping them ground down :)

It's good to feed a selection of hays. Mine have Meadow hay in their kitchens which they both sleep on and eat. Then on top of that they have Alfalfa King Timothy Hay (note this is the brand name, is not Alfalfa), Burns Green Oat hay and Oxbow Orchard grass. We don't feed readigrass as it is too high in calcium and contributes to bladder issues.

Mine have Meadow hay in their kitchens which they both sleep on and eat.

This is such a piggie slave thing to say! :)) I often name areas of their cages too.

Our girls have ordinary Meadow hay from a local pet supply store but at the moment we are getting it from Dust Free Hay Company online as the hay is poor quality at moment.
They get Orchard grass, Timothy Hay and Oat Hay rotated daily to give them a bit of interest, we started it as a treat but it has now become the 'norm' - it tempts Meggy Moo to eat more hay which is good..

i use soft meadow hay in their hay area (hay4pets or dust free hay), and feed both meadow hay and timothy+rye hay (again, hay4pets usually, or dust free hay). occasionally i buy some other hays for a treat aswell. :)

I normally use meadow hay and buy mine from just for pets, but again, struggled with the quality recently. If you go to hay for pets, dust free hay or hay experts (all online, just Google) you can order a sample pack for £3.50 and you get about four small bags of all the different hays they do. I've just done that and am going for the 'ings' meadow hay from hay for pets and some small timothy hay :)
