Timothy hay or meadow hay?

Which is best to give? I'm talking eating and keeping teeth down.

As long as it is good quality either is fine. I buy ings hay from hayforpets. Mine love it.

Both should work for keeping teeth down- But I'd say Timothy hay as better benefits and nutritional value for a Guinea pig; and is more enjoyable for them. The only set-back for Timothy Hay is that it's often more expensive than Meadow hay, but really it's up to you.

I feed both. Timothy hay is lower in calcium and is processed a bit more easily by the guts, but like humans, guinea pigs love variation...

I use meadow for bedding and timothy in their hay rack. If you buy it from Hay for Pets then timothy is the same price as meadow

I've been thinking about buying timothy hay but the packs I've looked at says it's for rabbits? Is it ok to just feed them timothy hay?

Yes, they're for both Rabbits and Guinea pigs, pets @ home have the suitable timothy hay for guinea pigs

Thank you. I shall get that then as it's lower in calcium as one of my sows suffers from bladder sludge so it would be better for her.
