As some of you may or may not know, Eliza has a hay poke so the vet has given me some drops to put in her eye twice a day for a week. Now, Eliza is the worse pig ever for giving medication to. She will wiggle like mad and squeak the house down. When she was on antibiotics, we had to result in wrapping her in a towel.

She had her first dose of drops last night and was really good. HOWEVER, she now knows what's coming and was a pain again this morning. so much in fact, she nearly poked herself in the eye with the tip and we hardly got any of it in :(

I would be very grateful to hear any tips that will make this easier to do.

Thank you in advance xx

Hay Claire (sorry couldn't resist that one :) )

We know all too well how difficult it is to get drops into the yes of guinea pigs as have had to do it with both Mo & JUles - Jules eventually came round to the idea (after bein a bit of a bad patient to start with with the first lot of drops) and sat there with a couple of moves of the head and almost a poke in the eye :) Mo on the other hand was a terrible patient and most of it ran down his face but think we managed to get enough into him as he had also suffered a hay poke :)>>> thanks to Laura-CCC4 for her advise that night

In this house it's a 2 person job for eye drops. Towel wrap if you need to, and get the other person (if you have a helper, that is!) to hold and tilt her, so her eye is more accessible to you, and at the right angle for the drops to run into the corner of the eye rather than down her face. Good luck!
