Well, it's been six weeks since Marty Pig was neutered.

He's been in with the girls for a couple of hours and everything seems to be ging ok. :)):))
I think it helped having them all together last night at playtime for a couple of hours.
Barbra seems to get on ok, but then she is dominant piggie. Poor Caramel doesn't stop grumbling (he keeps trying to mount her) and hides in her cosy!

Here's hoping it all stays relatively peaceful :{

The rumblestrutting is perfectly normal - it is a boar's way of telling the girls what a smashing guy he is and how much he fancies them. Boars do it several times a day, and at times I had reason to wonder whether my boy had any other vocabulary left! Unlike with same sex pairings, it is not a dominance thing.

What you have to look out for when putting a neutered boar with sows is any aggression from the sows, mainly kicking, nipping and chasing away. This you will see right at the beginning during the first few minutes. If there is no initial aggression from the girls, then there is nothing to worry about and you can just sit back and enjoy watching the interaction.

It sounds like it is all going well so far. My favourite bit of bonding is the little war dance they do, shaking their bums and lifting their legs as if they doing the hukka:))

well I checked them this morning as usual and Barbra and Marty Pig seem to be getting along well. Poor little Caramel (my avatar) was a larry loner downstairs. I put their usual veggies in a couple of places this time to make sure all could get at the food but Barbra and Marty Pig came downstairs and pushed Caramel out a bit.

Should I be worried? Any one with some experience with this, there is no aggression, no teeth chattering, just the usual nudges out of the way of the favourite food but from both Marty and Barbra now.

Barbra always used to take food from Caramel, which she still does and to Marty also so that is not particularly new, but I can't help be concerned... Caramel is my fave - don't tell the others ;)

It is normal - Marty has obviously established himself within the food hierarchy and is dancing attention to his new top lady. He and Caramel will work out a releationship as well over the next couple of weeks; usually when the lady comes into season.

I have seen similar behaviour during those few weeks when Llewelyn was just with sisters Nia and Nerys. Only that it was rather impossible to snatch any food from Nerys... rolleyes

Have just got home and checked on the piggies, all on the same floor :))
Caramel and Barbra came over and gave me piggie kisses :(|):(|) and Marty Pig just GRRRRd at me! -
hopefully they are all happy now and I don't have to worry anymore :))

Congrats on your trio... I think male and female bonding are fantastic, my Fred was so funny he hid under the tiolet, I had to nudge him over to the girls and then when he realised they were girls... he started Brrrrr.... and infact he has done it ever since everyday adleast a thousand times a day, he gets urinated on alot :))! rolleyes!
