Toffee has gone to the rainbow bridge 🌈

Evening all,

I’m just writing to let you all know that Toffee has gone over to the rainbow bridge this morning.

He passed away peacefully in my arms, his favourite place to be.

I’m absolutely distraught, he is the first baby I’ve experienced passing away and I don’t even know what to do with myself. Any advice would be so appreciated because I feel like I’ve lost the ability to function.

I’m comforted by the smiles I know he’s brought some of you in my previous threads. Here’s the last picture I have of him, from yesterday when they had a cage clean, and when he hopped straight into his favourite cosy, where he spent his last hours.

I can't give advice as everyone experiences grieving in different ways. I send you peaceful vibes and all I can offer is that in time you will be able think of Toffee and treasure the memories of the happy times you spent with him. He would have known how much you loved him and taken that to the rainbow bridge with him.
Each time I have had to say goodbye to my beloved piggies I end up in bits - it is never easy.

Thank you both so much, it’s a difficult time that’s for sure, but I’ve spent the last half an hour laughing about the memories we’ve had with him and all of his silliness

I’m sorry to hear Toffee has travelled to RB.
He was a beautiful piggy. Very much loved and cared for which is all we can do for our piggies.
He was living his best life with you and your family.

Sadly you will experience ups and downs as you grieve and you will have to get used to life without Toffee.

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve lost your beloved Toffee, he was gorgeous. Take solace in that you were with him at the end and he would have got comfort from that. Someone wise on this forum told me that grief is the price we pay for love and I thought that was so true. It’s awful I know to miss a beautiful animal you’ve loved so much but eventually the wonderful memories of a life spent together overtake the sad ones. Take care of yourself and importantly give yourself time as you grieve. Rest Peacefully Toffee.x

I'm so sorry to hear about Toffee. I agree with above, people grieve in different ways. But we all here can relate. Please do feel that you can come and talk to us all on here, any time. I found it really helps.

Toffee returned home to me on Thursday, albeit in a different form. His final resting place, opposite his brothers so he can keep an eye on them x
