Toffee left me on Friday evening! :'( I hadn't realised she was so poorly. She had become a little quiet, but was still eating and drinking so I felt sure it was nothing serious and that a trip to the vet would have her fine in no time.

Sadly Toffee had got a huge (almost golf ball sized) haematoma which had started to hemorrhage. There had been no signs whatsoever as to what was happening inside her little body. She literally deteriorated before my eyes in a matter of hours.

I gave Simon, my vet, permission to carry out a postmortem as I feel every bit of knowledge gained might just help another piggy in the future.

Have fun playing at Rainbow Bridge dear little Toffee. Re-united with your brother Jippi. Your sisters Skye and Poppet are missing you so much! :'(

They are too good at hiding illnesses. If one of mine goes quiet I'm constantly worrying about them. Hope Skye and Poppet are ok, they are all stunning pigs. :smitten:

Bless her, it still must be a shock for her. Hopefully she will be fine. They are such intune little animals they always know when something is wrong. :smitten:

Thank you for all your kind words! Poppet seems a bit happier today. She was always with Toffee and seems to have really missed her. :'( Skye has been such a little darling. She has been cuddling Poppet and is very loving towards her. Up until now Skye has never really seemed interested in the others and has always seemed very aloof! She seems to have changed character completely! Its lovely to see her being so kind! :) Not sure if it will last, but for now its just what Poppet needs! :)
 
it is lovely that skye is doing that for poppet, maybe toffee's spirit is with them. but we people can learn from animals, they are a wonderful gift :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: skye sees poppet is hurting and sad and she is there for her, and yet people call animals dumb. gotta wonder who are the dumb animals sometimes/most times. sending you all hug and cuddles :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: and skye the girls send you :-* :-* :-* for caring for sweet little poppet when she is feeling blue. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
