Pettlebiscuit
New Born Pup
I still can't believe you're gone. After a lengthy illness of what the vet diagnosed as a touch of bloat, you came through it only to then have to deal with what we all (vet included) thought was cystitis. You were then back to your old self, the brave explorer, completely fearless. Your mum and I even managed to get a closer bond with you after having to hand feed and give you your meds. You were so loving.
Then, out of the blue, you began to bleed. Heavily. We rushed you to the vet who did xrays and an ultrasound. You were diagnosed with a tumour. We were given two options, put you to sleep or try and go in surgically. We opted for the surgery given that you were still fighting, we didn't want to rob you of that chance.
The vet nurse came out mid surgery to update us. You had an ovarian tumour. But not just any ovarian tumour, it was the biggest the vet had ever seen. It was the size of a small sausage and was roughly a third of your weight. How you managed to fight for so long with that is something your mum and I will never understand.
The operation went well, you were fighting through. Until you has to come around from the anaesthetic. You fought that too. Your heart stopped. Twice. But each time, you came back to us. Until the third and final time when you must have been too exhausted.
Your mum and I are completely devastated especially after losing your sister exactly 6 months from the day before we lost you. Milky Jo just missed you too much and needed you to love and annoy her again.
Your ashes will be returned to us and you will sit right on top of the mantle next to Milky. I have copied Milky's eulogy in this post too so that you two will always be together on here too.
Our sweet Milky Jo
Goodbye, our brave little girl. We are so proud of how hard you fought but are so glad you are no longer in any pain. Take care of each other ok?
We love you always x
