My guinea pig has been sneezing probably at least 5 times a day ever since I got him (back in December). I thought this was normal but today I looked up on too much sneezing and saw that it could lead to a URI. I'm now concerned because Nickel gets neutered next week and I don't want him to go through surgery if he's sick. I'm just confused because Nickel has never shown any symptoms of the URI besides sneezing. He doesn't sneeze like 5 times in a row, just once in a while throughout the day. I'm thinking he's more likely allergic to his hay or bedding but I'd like some opinions.

Take a deep breath! That amount of sneezing is normal. Guinea pigs sneeze at the end of a 'piggy wash', which they perform several times a day, in order to clear their nostrils from any hay dust.

For UTI or an allergy you are looking at a number of persistent regular sneezes per hour over a matter of hours or days, not a one-off sneezing fit, either! ;)
