December 14, I lost one of my pigs named Reece unexpectedly. Every thing was fine. He was eating and drinking as usual. I think that it was just his time to go. Well since that day I have lost 4 other pets. 3 chickens due to a predator.
Yesterday I lost another one of my pigs Frankelynn. He was already sick. His weight was down in the 500’s. There were no other symptoms he was eating good a bit slow but still eating, he was drinking. The vet couldn’t find anything wrong. I was just giving him some critical care hoping that he would get his weight up. He finally crossed over that bridge. It was very sad. I found him 20 minutes before he took his last breath. I thought that he still had a chance he was reacting to me petting him. He was even taking some water and swallowing it. It’s a little hard on me because I felt like he was fighting. It feels like he didn’t want to die but his body just gave up. Well now I have a new pig. I realize that it’s kind of like my coping method. I should have gave it a week or two to let myself grieve. It obviously too late now but I just wish I would’ve waited. Especially bc now my new pig looks like Reece and Frankelynn combined.

Sorry for all your losses. It sounds like a really difficult past couple of months you’ve been through. I’m sure Reece, Frankelynn and your chooks knew they were loved. Sleep tight little ones x
