When I put the guinea pigs into bed at night, they are always topped up with more hay and pellets. However, when I go to see them in the morning, they hay is all flattened down and lots of it has been.

Should I give them more hay in the morning as I would not like them to get cold or hungry?

I top up regularly - but I have some who do like nothing better than to curl up in it after they've stuffed themselves...

Bo likes to lay down in his beloved hay when he eats so it needs fluffing and topping up often :). Hay is their staple food, they should always have heaps of it!

I only have hay racks and they are emptied quiet quickly, Mine get topped up morning around 7/8, when I get home from work around 6/7 and then again before I go to bed. Each time there is a fair bit gone but they are never empty!

I top mine up twice a day or more if they need it. Are your piggies outdoor pigs or indoor pigs? The reason I ask is because I feel that outdoor pigs need much more hay than indoor pigs as it keeps them warm. My girls always flatten their hay but if the want to snuggle up in it, they still manage it :)
