Has anyone had experience of this?
I just got 2 more boar brothers, Bramble and Chestnut. They're about 10 wheeks old. They don't seem to be using the water bottle 98) I don't know if they had one before.
I put a bowl of water in too, just to be safe but that gets tipped over & soaks everything and as I'm out at work during the day I'm worried they'll get thirsty.
I've now changed the bottle for an older, slightly leaky one in the hope that they'll discover the drips!
Any ideas on how to encourage them to use it?

You could always put them on your knee and have a water bottle in their hand but like put it to their mouths, but dont force them.

We have 2 guineas that where used to drinking out of bowls, but we put water bottles there, and they adventured around abit and they worked it out for themselves.

Try putting 2 medium (not large not small) bottles on there for them, and fill it right to the brim everyday, and see if they take any, then you'll know if they use it.

Thanks Ali, they're extremely skittish at the moment so handling's going to take some time and patience. I'm keeping a regular eye on the bottle and just hoping they suss it out!

Awwh piggies are always skittish at first.
Have you been given them from a previous home? Or did you buy them?

Hiya

I remember seeing someone else with this problem and just found it on this thread as there was a few ideas from people in there

Water Bottles

There were some tips in there.. I found that mine copied when they were younger... they didnt seem to know what to do with the bottle, but after watching and copying they seemed to pick it up :D

Hope this helps a little xx

Briliant thanks.
I like the idea of rubbing something on the end of the bottle. They seem to love cucumber so perhaps if the bottle tip smells of cucumber?
