I clean out my guinea pigs once a week, and when I start, I put them in a plastic travel cage. This time I put it on the second to bottom stair, as I was doing a more thorough clean out then usual. When I was about halfway between finishing and starting, my piggies decided that they were going to run about in the cage. Suddenly, I heard a crash, and I realised that the cage had rolled, and I literally do mean ROLLED, down the stairs. They seem to be fine, but I really worried about them. Please help!

That must have been very frightening for all of you. Keep an eye on them in their cage. If they seem to be ok and are walking around, eating and drinking, weeing and pooping normally then you can stop worrying. Hopefully they were protected by the case and rolled rather than dropped. If you are at all worried something is wrong you should take them to a vet as soon as possible.

Aw how awful! Give them a check over yourself but if you think something may be wrong take them to the vets. Don't worry it was an accident- I'm sure they will be fine, I think when things like that happen you feel bad! My ironing board fell into their C&C once and ruined the cage- I have no idea how and I felt really bad, but none of them were hurt thank god.
