Hi well now i have 3 pigs bf still only has an mx5 so space is always at a premium! at the moment i have a medium ferplast carrier like this one that the girls fit snugly into but there is definitely no room for another!

Now do i buy another small guinea pig carrier for the 3rd guinea pig? or do i upgrade to

http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/catalog/ferplast-atlas-10-entry-level-cat-car-carrier.html

with an opening top? Don't want to upset the bonding of the piggies seeing as furby has proven herself to be a tad aggressive.grrrr Will this be big enough for 3 piggies? Have to get a plan in action as going home to my parents at the end of the month for a week hence the pigs will come too!

if none of this is suitable please help me with an alternative solution - note they will be on my knee for 2.5 hours so nothing too heavy please!:(|)

Now don't think I've gone daft but I'd suggest you measure the distance to the glove box from your stomache and the width from the arm rest to the handbrake to check what size you can get in which way. I'd definately want to keep them all travelling together for comfort and support of each other, and top loading makes life sooo much easier, how much do you want to spend?

In my experience, piggies prefer to hunker down and pile up as much as they can during travel. There are usually a few squeaks and squabbles at first until everypig is settled.

I prefer to give them a good portion of food shortly before I set off, so they will be drowsy and full for most of the time.

The girls are well travelled, and i normally treat them to some yummy veggies before we go and travel them on hay to nibble at when they get hungry, and furby usually has a few protestations throughout the trip! Which was why i thought maybe travelling her on her own would make her happier....?

I've had three pigs in a carrier that size and it worked out fine. Four is a bit of a squash, though... When I've gone for longer trips I've added a top floor by squashing in their biggest stick bridge and making a flat top to it. Bo likes a bit of time away from the girls... I'm thinking about making a lighter version from plastic or aluminium.

That is fine there is never going to more than 3! bf would have a fit! If only i had it today as going to the vets at 5 and having to borrow off a friend! I liked that one because it was top opening and had really good ventilation and i can look in at them easily whilst they are riding on my knee.
