I am going down to my Grandads on Thursday for a week, and then to my mum's for a week

Piggies are coming with me.

Any advice on keeping them calm in the car. I have a cat carrier for them.

It is 2 6 hour journeys with a stop at least once, and then to go to my mum's it'll be 2 4 hour journeys, there and back.

In my opinion i wouldnt take them to be honest :-\ I think that journey 6 hours one is too far :(

I am the same, would not take them. Firstly because transporting the whole cage is a pain in the bum, they cannot live in a carrier for the time your away and secondly they will get so stressed and confused with 3 different homes in 2 weeks and 3 car trips. Stress can cause a pig to stop eating, stop drinking and even die through the stress alone. Plus they are not fully grown so for them to stop eating could be even worse. I just would not do it but thats just me.

I would have no problem in taking them (possibly be less stressful than leaing them behind with a stranger who may not - almost certainly could not - give them the same loving care that you would).

Like Vikki said plenty of cucumber & melon (if they eat it) plus I would add some herbs - parsley is a bit of a calmer-downer apparently. Have you thought about a drop or two of Rescue Remedy on the ears just before setting off. I always used this before taking a piggy to the Vet and it always worked wonders.

Good luck with the journeys - hope you (and the piggies) have fun! O0

p.s. Well done to you for thinking of them and not just leaving them behind for a whole fortnight.
