Hey everyone just wondering if any of you buy treats/dried dandelions/pea flakes etc online… I currently feed veg hay pellets and one a week fruit but just wondering about other treats…many thanks x

My girls would start a riot if I were to stop giving them pea flakes every now and then. Oat flakes are their favourite but they only ever get them when they’re poorly.

Otherwise it’s simple veg and leafy greens for them - and tons of hay! No pellets here due to calcium problems. They’re also fans of this hay burrito thing c:<

I buy forage from Piggie Parcels (a business run by a member of this forum) and they get some sprinkled in hay every evening (i don’t give pellets every day)

Ok thanks guys I’m giving 4 tablespoons of pellets at the moment spaced out my girls are between 15-20 weeks I think I hope pellets everyday is ok for mine then I will have a look at flakes are these high in sugar and how often would you give it? X

Yes one tablespoon of pellets per pig every day is fine. I just choose not to and instead my boys get a mixture of forage every day instead of pellets (and pellets about three times a week).

Pea flakes are an occasional treat and they are high in fat. I never used to give my boys pea flakes but now they get a couple each about once a week mixed in with their other forage

Thank you very much I just hope my pigs are ok I'm worried that hay pellets veg and fruit is ok but boring without some nice forage and I don’t have too much accessories one tunnel cuddle cup furplast house huge hay box hope that’s ok I hope they aren’t bored they aren’t keen on handling too much and I don’t pick them up everyday but I sit with them try to stroke them etc so they know me they love to wheek at me the most anyway lol x

Make sure you have multiple of everything in the cage so they don’t have to share anything.

My boys have lots of hides and tunnels but the biggest enrichment my boys have is large hay piles (just loose on the cage floor) and then i add mix their forage and veg into it so they have to search.

My girls get a pinch of dried treat mix that has smashed peas, split peas (their least favorite), and carrot bits; I used to get one (years ago) that had smashed corn kernels, too, but it had some weird colorful puffs that I'd just toss, so I switched when I found this one. I haven't started my newest piggy on it, yet, as carrots has been introduced but peas hasn't yet. (It'll be the next introduction.) All previous piggies love the mixes, though ... I can't speak to online products, though, as the ones I get are from pet shops.
As a fun hay toy, I've gotten hay twists and hay woven into a carrot shape for my girls, and those have been very popular (and short lived).
