Some of you may know Thelma is currently suffering with Cystitis. We went to the vet on friday and was given antibiotics and painkillers (baytril and rhymadil). She seemed to be doing ok at the weekend and I thought we had it under control. But this morning when I was giving her meds I noticed she was trembling all over, especially towards the rear. It seems to happen more when she is trying to pass water.
I am waiting for the vet to phone me back, I was just wondering could it be a sign of pain or something more sinister?
Any advice really appreciated.
Thank you x

P.s The vet knows about septrin and UTI's but wanted to try baytril first as septrin is not licensed for pigs and uti's

Sorry to hear Thelma is unwell, poor little thing. When one of our girls had a UTI Septrin got it under control after a few days unlike the baytril she had been having.
Got no idea on the trembling I'm afraid, would advise to get her checked out again at vets. Sorry can't offer more advice. Sneding healing vibes to Thelma x

I would have her seen again by the vet. Trembling is not a normal symptom/reaction.

Thanks for your replies.
Just spoke to the vet. Oddly she didnt seem too concerned. She has prescribed septrin now which I'm to pick and some more rimadyl as Thelma had the last tablet yesterday.
I'm seeing her monday anyway and we discussed maybe having an xray to rule out stones.
Just feeling really uneasy about it. But should trust her I guess as she sees a lot of guinea pigs.

Sorry to hear about Thelma, poor little girlie :(
Let's hope the septrin knocks that cys**** quickly and she's back to her wheeeky self again really soon.
