Pepperdog
Adult Guinea Pig
yesterday it was time to trim the boys bums and plums, tyrian was first and as he was a really good boy last time, his skirt hadnt got too long so it was just a case of tidying up what I did last time, followed by a cuddle of course.
Lupin was a little grumpy last time and I hadnt managed to do as much as I wanted to, this time round I managed to do a far better job and get his skirt how I wanted it and this time without him getting grumpy with me. He really enjoyed his cuddle, coronet scrtich and then he fell asleep on me x) only briefly, but it was cute.
So onto the herd as it was claw trimming time too, crystal got caught first, since her extra baths last year and handling she is a little easier to catch once cornered and she enjoyed a good groom, even though she is a rex, a fair bit of loose hair came out her coat to begin with and then she was happy for a cuddle and we of course had a little chat as we do.
Next caught was fudge, oh my did she kick up a stink rolleyes
screaming and making such a fuss, even pepper looked up to see what i was doing to her, and what was I doing, yep, nothing rolleyes claws trimmed and then I started to stroke her, lots of noise then suddenly it went quiet, I was wondering why when I saw her eyes were closed, she was flumped down into me and had infact fallen asleep
so it cant have been that bad then fudge you silly girl.
Minty was next, now she is a nightmare to catch but a sweetheart to hold, claws done really quickly as she is very calm to do, then placed her on my chest where she loves to snuggle into my neck for her cuddle.
And last but not least was silver, the worst one to catch, claws were a bit difficult to do as he got very grumpy and tried to bite me, I turned him round to face me and said "dont bite me Mr" and he stopped being so grumpy then. I wondered if the other boys smell had wound him up but he may just have been a bit stroppy. Anyway he had a cuddle which he often likes and we had a bit of a chat with each other.
All piggies back in the pen and veggies given, they settled down to sleep off their ordeals and full tums, I then had to wash hands, arms and face, take antihistamine and suffer for an hour after handling them, to be fair I have been putting a bit of hay out of the hay rack in a box for them to explore and chomp on so its possibly the hay more than anything that set me off, but honestly it was worth the sniffles and itchy eyes to get 6 fabulous cuddles from the piggles
