Tufty our brave little man died today at 6.55pm in my partners arms. He had such a difficult start to life, 2 days after buying him from our local pet store he developed ringworm. He was so tiny when we first got him and he had such a large mass of ringworm. Even passed it on to our older guinea, our older bunny and me!! Many months of bathing and treatment saw him fully to health. He had a fantastic 18 months with his cage buddy Patch who we lost in December 2006. He carried on and became very independent. He was the one who would frequently lean out of his cage to say hello when we came. He would clean our hands of the salt. He was such a lovely guinea. Suddenly over the weekend he stopped eating and drinking. The vet diagnosed bloat on Monday and gave us lots of treatments to try. We saw a gradual decline and we kept syringe feeding him every few hours but it just wasn't enough. He passed away peacefully this evening. He was in the arms of someone who loved him and his breathing gradually stopped. A little shudder as his heart gave way and he was gone. You will be missed terribly by everyone. We had you for a long long time and from such a small baby. I'll miss you little man. Be at peace and enjoy your days with Patch at the bridge. We will see you again x
