Astro is from the big rescue (280+) back in Feb, we are trying to make his life with us fun and happy.

Looks like the Caravan Cavies have had a great holiday!

Do you ever get passersby sauntering past, and then stop and do a double take? And if other campers have dogs on the loose, how do you deal with that?

I think it's a wonderful idea to be able to take them away too.

Looks like they had a fab holiday too! Thanks for all the lovely pigtures!

Fantastic holiday pigtures of your gorgeous herd x)

When we are away we do get lots of passerby having a look, especielly if we are on a big site and then they become a child magnet. Most of the time these days we are on quite small sites (no more than 5 caravans permitted). This means very few dogs and when there are we discuss things with the owners. At Clevedon there were 2 dogs, a well behaved border collie who was interested but kept her distance, and a jack russell who we had met previously last year. he and Astro had a nose to nose sniff at each other through the run bars (under supervision of course).

One of us always sits outside with them and we try to make sure that dog owners are aware and co-operate with their needs as well.

What a happy holiday herd!

We thought about taking our boys camping but we only have a tent so we can't get them out of the heat if we need to or keep predators away..

Also they are so good at escaping they'd be a nightmare.

I love that house on legs you have, where did you get it?

Glad Astro is settling in, he's a lucky boy. x

The house was salvaged from Katies Primary school. It was the top of a bird table that was being replaced. It serves very well as a piggy hidey. If a bird flys overhead you can get all four piggies underneath lol.

This is amazing. I've been saying to my bf for ages we should go on a caravanning holiday and bring the guineas along.
He's not keen though :(

I can't believe you did this! I must have been so nice to have a holiday and not have to leave the little pigs behind :))

I had no idea that I could take piggies on hols! How do you go about transporting them?

We use two cat caddys, with fleece, paper and have cucumber for liquid on the move. It was Astro and Cosmos first holiday and they were nervous travelling so Astro travelled with Twinkle and Cosmos with Star. They all slept on the way back. The important thing is to get the largest cage that will fit on the caravan work area (cooker, sink etc). We use a Ferplast 100 which is obviously too small for permanent use for 4 piggies but strangely in the caravan they adopt to it. The longest holiday we have is 12 days and they seem to enjoy it. It may be that its because we are all in such close company after all the caravan interior is 7 feet by 18 feet with 3 adults, 1 teenager and 4 piggies.

This is the pet caddy that we use (2 piggies per caddy).

It's great to see other people taking their piggies on holliday. I've done it twice now and I don't think I could ever go on holliday again without them.
I loved the video with popcorning piggies.

Hehehehe x) looks like they all enjoyed their holiday and hope you did too :) x)
