Hi All,

I just went in the shed to check on the pigguns as it is warm in Liverpool and have left the door ajar for them. Twinkle was wheeking away at me, so I filled the dry food bowl up as it was almost empty and thought he would stop, but no he kept on, so I got him some cucumber, he ate it but still contiuned, I was lost as to what was wrong with him. So I lent down and stroked him and he stopped! Now Twinkle usually runs away, only a couple of times has he allowed me to stroke him so this is great!

Out of my five pigs he is the one who has took time to settle, but looks like we have turned the corner. :)

Just thought I'd share, hope you are all having a good day,

Louise

Anne I honestly thought that Twinkle was going to be one of those that just didn't want to be around people, which was fine, I guess he has had a lot to deal with with the dominate Sunshine! What's happening with Nibbles?

Lindsay, good luck with your gorgeous girl, she's a doll was so tempted myself but I've enough at the mo :)

Take care,

Louise

Nibbles is so very timid and wary, wheeks like crazy for food.
Still very nervous around people.
We've only had him 5 weeks, but with Harry loving the contact, it makes Nibbles
appear even more shy.
I will have to give him time.
Anne.

Hi Anne,

Aww yeah time is all it takes! I've had Twinkle for 3 months and he has really come on. Even the girls who I've had for 2 months are gradually getting there, they will sniff food from my hand but not take it yet but its such an improvement.

Good luck with him, he sounds a sweetie!

Thanks Louise
He will take food from me, but if I try to stroke him,
well, you'd think someone was gonna murder him,
he dives away and has even kind of squeaked with fear.
We will keep trying with him. :smitten: :smitten:

Bless him, I end up talking to my lot in a baby voice, they love that! Sadly my neighbours must think I'm crazy! I don't care though, when I do it Sunshine popcorns 98)

;D :D ;D :D
Glad I'm not alone with the baby voice thing, kids think I'm mental.
Although, Shauna, 7, was talking to them in the same sing songy voice the other morning, as I came down the stairs.
Saying to them, " Are you wheeking for your breakfast, `cos you can hear Mummy coming."
I didn't know which was sweetest her saying that or them wheeking because they new brekkie was on it's way. Lol

Kids are so cute with them, Emily gets up in the morning and the first thing she does is talk to Cuzzy and give him a kiss. She has had me up the wall today running to the shed and opening the door! I prefer to open it for her just incase one has escaped...lol

Is she feeling better then? Is her infection clearing up? ( or was that Caitlin, hope I got name right.)
Bless `them, it's ace to see kids so affectionate with them. :smitten:

Yes thanks Emily ear is a lot better so much so that she was crying to go to school this morning. But I told her that if she waited until Monday she will be 100% better. Both Emily and Caitlin are asleep at the moment, so proves Emily is not 100% as she never falls asleep usually. It won't harm her though.

Fingers crossed this is the last of the bugs, since she has gone back to school all she seems to be getting is colds.

Great news. O0 :)
Fingers crossed.

Aww cute Twinkle... my Piko still runs whenever I put my hand out to her. She likes being stroked I know coz shes ok when shes out of her cage but I guess she is just nervous bcoz of her pregnancy. Hopefully she will be tame and friendly after babies come. Eevee on the other hand is a real sweetie, full of piggy kisses and wheeks.

So you are sure Piko is pregnant then? Bless her, hope it goes well for her!

Archie - Yeah Emily is a great name but I am biased...lol I called her that hoping it was a rare name, there are three Emily's in her class! :D

She does seem to be bcoz she balooned up in the last few days. Will just have to wait and wait...can't feel any movement yet.

Emily is a nice name :) Its ok if its not too rare, My given name is a name no one else has (not my forum nickname lol...) and I have been teased pretty much because of it when i was little. Its all thanks to my grandpa who named me, I guess he wanted something unique.

I've a couple of friends with unusual names, but I like them they are unusual! A girl in Emily's school is called Mercedes! Each to their own but you have to think of them when they are adults. My Nan picked my Name, my middle name is Ann after my Great Grandmother who's middle name was Ann. My grandad thought my name was Lucy so went around telling everyone, the problem is my surname is Lacy so Lucy Lacy didn't really go! LOL

Mercedes! I remember a girl in the book "The call of the wild" named Mercedes, lol... I really wanted to give my guinea pigs unique names too, but I thought maybe it would be hard for them to learn their own names, lol....

I named my pigs when I met them to get to know their personalities. They all suit them especially Twinkle!
