Just sorted out Dennis and his eye and now Velvet has a hay seed embedded in her eyelid:help: (OUCH) which happened overnight. We go away in about an hour to stay overnight with my Mother-In-Law :)so I have had to book Velvet into Vets4Pets in Holes Bay, Poole this afternoon which around the corner from where she lives. I now have to take Velvet and either Dennis or Christian and all the piggy paraphernalia as well as clothes, dinner for tomorrow (I'm cooking Sunday Roast:drool:) and all the other stuff I need to take. Luckily I still have in date eyedrops that I used for Dennis and I am taking Metacam too in case Velvet needs that too.

Eye injuries tend to always happen at the most inconvenient of times... :(
Personally I consider the timing of them as proof that karma has a really nasty sense of humour! My piggy eye ulcers seem to preferably happen the mornings of my biggest fundraising days or during the one night in the year we are not spending at home.

All the best; hopefully as you have caught it early and it is only a surface ulcer that it is coming down quickly again.

Thanks everyone. Lucky I spotted it at breakfast time this morning. She has Dennis for company this time x

Thanks Vet has given her Isathal twice a day, lubrithal eye gel 6 times a day and 0.15ml of Metacam once a day.

Sorry for poor Velvet, hope she feels better soon.

Holes Bay! Used to go past there all the time, past the railway station, up the former railway line to Broadstone where I grew up. It was countryside then... now all housing & industrial estates.

Yep Velvet and Dennis are having a little holiday at Grandma's house overnight.

What a time you are having of it @Betsy
Glad Dennis is better, hope Velvet’s eye heals quickly and that everything else slowly works out.

Ouch :(

Hope Velvet's eye is feeling better now she's getting some medicine (and that your Sunday roast is yummy :D)
