I woke up very late this morning (11am!) and was greeted with a loud telling off from Daisy who was fed up from waiting for her veggies! :))
Gosh, us poor piggie slaves, eh? We get told off for having a cheeky liitle lie in! :))
Ah well, i better make it up to her with and extra slice of pepper!

jess

xx

Don't the little monkeys make you feel really guilty for having a lay in? I'm sure they do it on purpose as they know they'll get extra veg because you feel guilty for making them wait a bit longer than normal!

Guinea pig alarm clocks don't come with a snooze button do they!

Every morning 'Pitch' would wheek loudly to be fed but if you left it too late she would guilt trip you with total silence and just stare at you. We used to feel so guilty when this happened....

I have this problem solved - get up, feed the pigs, maybe have some toast and a cup of tea, then go back to bed :))

lol..... they dont let us away with anything do they ?

Mine are wheeking right now wanting veggies and they are a bit early....lol

x

This is exactly why I don't feed mine at any set times! They're either quiet, or wheeking ALL the time lol

I think mine have got the gist, weekdays= early feed, weekends = don't expect anything before 9am lol!

I've tried that, they think it's breakfast time again when I get up the second time and start wheeking all over again the cheeky things!

Hm. I wonder if I cut back on the vegetables and fruits and grass if I would get some noise out of Red. Since the first few days I had him, he hasn't wheeked, he hasn't talked (except to the cats), and he only shrieks if I comb his hair, and he shrieked the other day when I pulled off a piece of tape that had gotten itself stuck to his hair. He has beans, carrots, apples, watermelon, kale, grapes, parsley, grass of every sort, pumpkin seeds, pellets, hay, and he has most of it 24/7. I just keep putting the stuff in there and he keeps eating it. (Maybe that's why he's growing so much.) I just don't get talked to. Maybe if I left off all but the hay and pellets for a while, then he would say something. At least your masters will talk to you.

Ha! Even my children know not to wake me in the morning. Hence, my piggles get their veg at supper time. ;)

11am....... oh heck i think Velvet and Onyx would've climbed outta their house and up the stairs to come and wheeeeeek their heads off at me!

Hey Rhinerah i too give my girls there veggies at night...but mornings (aka brekkie) is some silverbeet (chard) and if that's late.....eeek :))

Three of my boys don't make a single noise no matter the time.
My newest boy likes to scream his head off at me if he hears a rustle or smells food. Or if he just wants it.

It's nice to have a vocal piggie. I was always scared because mine never made noises.

My two boys were only fed on carrots before I got them and anything new or different they're highly suspicious of, so I had to get a bowl and chop up their food and mix it all together. The other night it took me a bit longer to chop it up and so when I went to present it to them, they shouted at me! (I was secretly pleased to hear them shout :) )

The latest I'm up is 6.30-7.00am even on days off as that's a lie in for me. Up at 4am in the week for work and to see to the piggies so they like a bit of a lie in too I think ;)

My girls have a bell that they use to wake me up xD And I seriously thought I was being paranoid when they gave me the stink eye...can't believe they actually do!

And yet I went home for lunch today and went out to my guinea pig's hutch and called "hello".

They were obviously having their snooze and didn't even pop out to say hi.

One rule for them, one rule for us! ;)
