My little girl Bonnie is about 3&1/2. I just noticed this morning that her teeth are uneven.

She is still eating and drinking normally, doesn’t seem to be affecting her.

Will she be okay? I’m very worried as I’ve never had an issue like this before

The only thing I can think of is that she has started biting the bars during veggies because she’s impatient😂 could that be the cause of the broken tooth?

Upon further look, the top one is slightly angled compared to other whereas the bottom one has a chunk out of it. The brown stuff is her pellets she’s been eating.

I would take her to the vet.
There may be an issue with the molars if her front teeth are uneven so it’s not something to leave unchecked.
The incisors are kept in good condition by the correct action of the molars. Seeing uneven incisors can suggest they aren’t chewing properly with the molars

Keep a closer eye on her weight by increasing the routine checks to ensure she is eating enough hay

My little guy has the same problem. He was diagnosed with malocclusion and has to see the vet at least twice a year for tooth trimming.
She said it was because he was a rescue guinea pig, and the previous own did not feed his right.

Your piggy will absolutely be a-okay, with regular vet visits. You're doing a great job being a guinea pig mom, it is nothing that you have done wrong.

Biting the bars can cause a broken tooth, it's happened to 2 of my boars recently. The teeth grew back in within a week though and it didn't affect the top teeth. I would get her checked out at the vets to make sure the molars are okay.

Update: she is booked in tomorrow to check her molars. She’s having to get anaesthesia and the vet will also even out the incisors.

Has anyone had this done for dental work? I’ve had piggies in the past go under and it took them days to get semi normal again :(

Bonnie is fully healthy and still acting completely normal so that’s giving me hope that she’s stronger than the others. But I’m just so worried that I’m putting her through this when she’s still acting fine :(

I feel so conflicted but it’s the right thing to do right?
