Uni and GP's

hi i know a few of you are at uni at the mo n i was just wondering if u had them whilst u wer in halls or only when u wer renting? just wonderin coz I'm goin in september n i was guna leave my GP with my lil brother but would much prefer 2 take him with me if they allow it

When I was at uni we were not allowed any pets in Halls - and they have cleaners that come round, so they would have noticed if I did!

Some rented accommodation won't let you either - it depends. Usually they object to cats and dogs most, small animals might be ok or you could offer to pay a higher deposit which would be non-returnable if there was any damage as a result of the pets.

I live at home and travel in to uni so that was never a problem for me but i do know none of my friends are allowed pets in halls O0
 
I wasn't allowed pets in halls and I just left them in June last year, and have just got permission to have spice and blaze in my rented flat which I have been in for 6 months and was always planning on doing.
 
OK thanks thats what i thought, i guess ill hav 2 just c him at weekends fo the first year :'( and then find a rentd place that will let me bring him
 
yep we werent allowed pets in halls.

I'm in a rented house now, i got pigs last year when i was in a different house, and asked my landlady first, and she said to was ok.

then when i looked for the house i am in now i purposely asked landlords before we even looked round the house, and it is in our contract so we are allowed to have them.

i leave uni this year and now have to find another house that will let me keep them. but since our house passed inspections with flying colours I'm sure i can get a reference from the letting agents
 
i private rent and the landlord told me i wasnt alloud pets but i told him that my piggies aint exactly gonna reck the place as they only come out of the cage three-four times a week and then they mainly stay on my lap.

most landlords will negotiate.
 
when we first moved into our house we only had two pigs.

now we have 6! i have 4 in my room and my housemate has 2 in her roon.

letting agents had a bit of a suprise when they visited the other day
 
we rent and our landlord is great as long as we tell him what pets we have he is ok, he just said what ever they damage you fix or pay for which we do :)
