Well she had another vet check today and she passed with flying colours! She is now 990g (up from 860 a few weeks ago)! Just 10g off her healthiest weight 7 weeks ago. She ran around the vet table, tried to jump Into her carry box and was generally very cheeky!

She has been doing laps in her cage recently and even the odd popcorn which she has never done before (she is now 4!). The heart meds and frusol are helping tremendously and I don't think she has ever been so well. Back in a month for another check up.

The downside is that she has had a major fall out from her herd and there is no going back. She is off to Wheek and squeak soon to find a friend. If she doesn't want one then that's fine, she is clearly ok being a lone pig, but we need to make that this is the right decision. Let's hope she finds one she likes as I do hate her being On her own (she is next to the others but they even bicker through the c&c! ).

So once again, thank you so much for all your support and advice in the darkest of times a few weeks ago! So glad by baby is back x

Wonderful news! Sorry to hear about the permanent fall out, it is horrible to see. Hope the dating goes well and beautiful Cagney can find a new friend. Don't forget to keep us updated on her Wheek n Squeak visit... You are a credit to her. x

Fantastic news, am so pleased. Really hope she decides she wants a friend when she goes dating.

Thank you everyone for your lovely replies. I am so over the moon that she has come so far. She is a very special girl.

I do hope she finds a friend. Anna has some options and even an older boar who is very docile, so I hope she finds a companion. To be frank she does not seem that bothered but I am sure in months to come she will get lonely. I don't think she wants a snuggle safe as a companion for ever!

I will let you know how it goes....will be 'interesting' for sure'!

Cagney is a little miracle girl. She has made a wonderful recovery from her ill period and that is all thanks to your wonderful care.

Thank you Piggy fan. She does have a huge love of life and an enormous appetite which I think helps a lot!

Couple of up to date photos:
A busy day at the office!

Another busy day at the office (she does run around I promise...!)

Love the little lips & her sweet expression in the 1st photo. Good to see all those choooken legs showing a relaxed piggy after such an ordeal.

Oh yeah, relaxing is her greatest passion...after eating that is! She does prefer to relax in front of the telly and quite likes classical music!

We often have chooken legs which require a little tickle now and then!

It made me laugh, last night I was sorting out the shed and I realised quite how much I had bought her to eat over the past few weeks to ensure she puts on weight. I am now having to explain the process of sharing with her friends to her, she does'nt quite understand that right now....

She has:

Oxbow Orchard Grass, Oxbow Timothy Hay, Meadow Timothy Hay, Green Oat Hay, hay with Camomile in it, Dust Free hay and Readigrass ...I mean how spoilt can a piggy be!?

Ooooh I wish I could spoil my boys like that. We don't have all those lovely hay choices over here. I am always drooling over the flavoured hays and Readigrass on the UK Amazon site, but can't import it here myself.

It was Cagneys day out today and we took a trip to the wonderful Anna's at Wheek and squeak. Anna is a genius at animal psychology and we discussed cagney's behaviour and how she had totally lost trust and was terrified of other guineas. We found a lovely little girl called Sniffles who had been in with a massive herd and had therefore had a certain diplomatic nature about her. She also quite a quiet, unassuming girl.

Poor Cagney was a little worried at first, very jumpy but no aggression. Little sniffles just laid down next to her and cuddled up to her...Cagney was completely, confused!

Anyway, the end result is Cagney looks like she has found a friend! They are back home in a 'neutral' environment for a week to bond. Then we will progress to their proper home and go from there. Currently they are side by side eating dinner together..let's hope it lasts! Pigtures soon once sniffles has settled down. I am so pleased for her.

Btw she had two skinny pigs..omg I am a convert! They were adorable and I got a cuddle...just loved them! One day.....

Umm well it was going well. Just popped in to check the. And there is a lot of screaming from sniffles and chasing by Cagney. I have lost the ability to know what's ok and what's not..help!

@Wiebke

I think it's just dominance behaviour but I know it sounds silly but I am so scared now it will turn! There's no flying at each other, a little bit of teeth chattering from Cagney but lots of chasing and little one wheeking.... Arghh

Oh gawd so do I. I am having to steal myself away and try not to interfere. Giving myself another half an hour then checking again,

I hope that things have quieted down again?

Ummm... A little. If i put loads of hay in its marginally better. She just keeps chasing sniffles. Not really aggressive as such but sniffles is not happy. If this was normal world, I'd just say it was usual sow bickering and dominance but I am just worried given Cagneys history. Poor sniffles just sat frozen still. Cagney demanding cuddles. Just put them to bed....won't sleep a wink tonight!

Dominance is never nice; I am thankfully over the worst of a comparatively mild case with my own latest newbie, who is very shy but gaining in confidence with every day she is no longer being chased off. As long as it is not really aggressive, you have to sit it out.

Ok, thanks wiebke. Just went down again and put some Bachs rescue remedy on their ears too. It's certainly not got worse, just horrid to watch. Normally they are in a big run when introduced so can get away, but at the moment they are in an indoor cage (it's still large but not as big as 20 foot!). I so hope they work it out. Cagney seemed so much happier at first.

I am sure that they will be fine together once Cagney has finished throwing her weight around. The dominance phase is never nice to watch and I am always relieved when it is over, even if it is a mild one...

Fingers and paws crossed they've had a quiet night. It would be so lovely for Cagney to have a friend again!

They are all munching breakfast at the moment. No blood or torn ears so that's a good start. Will check again shortly. Keeping everything crossed. Will update you!

Unfortunately it's not worked :-( I sat and watched them for 40 mins. Every time sniffles moved or went to eat, Cagney chased her. Just wouldn't let her eat, drink or move even. I rang Anna and we agreed it's not going to work. Cagneys breathing had also quickened and with her heart issues I did not want to stress her more. I picked up sniffles and cuddled her, went to put her back with Cagney and she climbed on to me like a limpet..she was so tense bless her. So that made up my mind in the end.

Sooo....sniffles in now in a neutral bonding pen with my other two girls and boy. They seem to be getting on brilliantly, Sebastian is trying his best to show his authority by humping them all! But when I left sniffles was laid down and he was grooming her. Few hours time I will put them in their main run...all,going well.

Meanwhile Cagney is in disgrace in an indoor cage in our living room (she thinks that's fabulous). At least we tried.
