Hi everyone,
as some of you have read, me and @MartiDavi recently adopted a beautiful little girl from Coseley GP rescue, when our much loved Chicco passed away.
We named her Cecilia. After a tradition of honestly quite silly names for our piggies, she kind of looked like she had to have a proper person's name! Cecilia is about 18 months old.
4 weeks after adopting her, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She is currently under steroids treatment, and thankfully the cancer has not interfered yet with her quality of life. She is incredibly sweet, she's getting used to our presence and starting to enjoy it. She also loves the house now. It wasn't easy making her comfortable in this environment. After 2 weeks with us, when we noticed the lump on her neck, a vet misdiagnosed it for an abscess. She had 2 full weeks of antibiotics and metacam, plus multiple trips to the vet. She did not have much time to get used to her new surroundings without additional stress. Thankfully, now she's finally settled in, and she can enjoy what are sadly her final days in a house that she loves, with these 2 big moving things (me and Marti) that are not so scary anymore, rather she find us interesting and likeable.
Also, she eats crazy quantities of food. Never seen anything like this. And she's by far the loudest piggie we've ever had!
She is lovely, reminds me of Nocciola in some of the ways that she moves, and perhaps because of the dark colours, but she also has a natural sweetness and gentleness that reminds us of Chicco.
Here's a few pictures and videos of her journey with us so far. Taking videos of her is necessary because she comes out way too dark in photo
Last visit to the vet last Wednesday, he said that the big lump on her neck got smaller, but her lymph glands got bigger, which is the inevitable bad news given the situation. We hope she can have a few more happy todays with us. For now, it's pretty clear that she's enjoying what we gave to her, and we should be thankful that she made it this far.
A nice video of her here!

ps: yes, we sit on the floor when the piggies have floor time. And yes, we speak with them with silly voices, sometimes!
