As per my other post. Isobel saw Kim this morning and is now on Zithromax. I don't know if she is just spaced out/ reacting to the medication or if she's leaving me.

She's weak and wobbly. She's interested in food but even with syringing doesn't seem to be chewing. There isn't a vet I can speak to at this time of night that's knowledgeable enough and I know if I go to emergency vets it'll be pts.

What's normal for Zithromax? Has today been too much for her?

Anselmo was doing okay on zithromax. I was told it could put them off their food though.

I would probably put it down to the pnemonia/breathing issues from the weekend.

Keep her warm and offer her little bits if food and water.

I hope she's okay. Let me know if I can do anything.

The emergency vet on Dominion Road aren't fantastic with pigs, but they're not automatically in PTS mode. They saved Anselmo twice from bloat.

This is not normal for zithromax; I'd rather think that today may have been too much for her. Keep her warm and comfy, but not hot.

HUGS!

I think you're right :( going to pop her back with Daisy and eat my dinner. If she's the same after the bit of syringe feeding she's had then I will take her to the emergency vet and get her pts

Is Zithromax the only meds she's had? Kim didn't give her an injection of anything? If she is not swallowing syringe food then it could be she is in shock or that the fluid is building up in her body if she has pneumonia :( It sounds similar to how my Petal went when she had pneumonia. I've not seen this sort of reaction to Zithromax.

She's had metacam, Zithromax and zantac. Kim felt the problems were predominantly pain related given the shaping of her jaw etc. As far as I know there were no injections

I ask because if she had a shot of Buprenorphine I've experienced first hand a reaction to that & it is very similar. Of course if her symptoms are related to pain there is the chance there is something going on internally causing it :(

Nothing to add Kelly. Just hugs and support from afar. You and Isobel have both been very brave today x

OK so she perked up ever so slightly. I have set up the hospital cage in my living room and they are both in their at the minute with a blanket over and a steam bowl with 2 drops eucalyptus and 2 drops white thyme (antibacterial) next to them.

I'm torn, part of me thinks better a day too early than a day too late but also another part saying well she perked up even if only slightly and maybe she can get over the shock of today

You can keep checking on her when you get up through the night to syringe feed her. See how she is in a few hours.

If she's okay in the morning, then that's really positive news and she'll hopefully progress further.

If she's perked up then I think I would be inclined to leave any decision over until the morning. Xx

Nothing more to add really, but I am thinking of you.
You know your piggie best, and you are clearly doing everything you can to keep her comfortable.

Well she made a run for it when I tried to feed her and then one min later had a bit of a spasm and leaned to one side. Just as I got through to the emergency vet I just went "Oh I think she's gone". Heartbroken isn't the word, what a crappy last year I've had

Oh that's awful. Huge hugs to you. I'm really sorry

Bless you Kelly love. You gave her the very best chance today. I'm so sorry that she didn't make it. Hugest hugs. Popcorn free Isobel. Xx

Kelly, I am so sorry, you have done all you could do for Isobel, sometimes no matter what we do whe can't save them, it is not for the want of trying. She was so very loved we can all see that, you are an amazing piggy slave. Lots of love and hugs to you X X x

Sleep well beautiful Isobel
