Hi All,

Just gone to feed all the pigs for the night and notice Pearl in the corner looking puffy and had a runny bum. Peter is syringing water into her now, we tried some critical care but she isn't interested? Should we continue with that?

Also what else can I give to help stop the runny poops? Obviously vet is out of the question until morning but I can run the chemist?

Thanks!

Louise

So Dialyrite or other rehydration therapy a probiotic and vitamin c supplement too!

Off to the chemist in 10 minutes!

Sorry Pearl is not well Lou, can't offer any advice, not had any experience of this so far. Good Luck. xxxxxxx

The chemists close at 11 I'm not goign to get there its in the City Centre!

Could your local on call GP service tell you if there are any 24 hour chemists, if you give them a ring.? xx

Larger boot stores have a 24hr pharmacy...usually the ones that are located in retail parks...

You can give Immodium -1/2 tablet (no more than 3 doses in total) OR Diacalm -1/4 tablet OR Arrowroot, mix with water into a paste & give 1ml twice daily. Also give Diarolyte, mix as per instructions & syringe regularly - this keeps her rehydrated

Hope she's ok Louise x

Thanks guys just finding a chemist open I'm lucky to be on the boarder with Knowsley and Cheshire so may be somewhere else! Will kep you posted she is pretty pooly if I am honest. :(

Sorry Lou, I hyphenated diocalm and that face thing came up. Have no idea why. Hope all works out well for you. x

hey lou, I'm so sorry my fave little hymi is so unwell. please send her all my love, i'll be thinking of you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks all, she is a little brighter. Hoping she makes it until morning so we can get her the vet. We are giving her water and critical care. She looks relaxed and not as puffed up her poop is firmer too.

I got some immodium. :)

She's still poorly obviously, we aren't confident she will be ok. Its been so sudden she was fine earlier! We will sit with her all night if we have to. Fingers crossed for her though, you never know she may just pick up. x

Thanks Debbie, she keeps talking to us and rumbling a little. Peter thinks maybe she is in pain but I'm not sure the runs has stopped now so maybe she is just getting her energy up. x

Sorry your piggie is unwell, I know how worrying it is when they are poorly :(

Hope you manage to get her back to her usual self soon. Fingers crossed for you xx
