So I've just looked in on my piggies before going to bed and noticed one of them scratching behind his ear, I remembered seeing him doing it earlier as well so upon further inspection noticed that he's developed a bald patch behind each ear. I've checked and can't see any signs of mites but it's hard to tell as he's jet black! I also checked his brother and I couldn't see anything on him, but I am wondering if he's getting wee bald patches as well (might be my imagination though) anyway, I'll be taking them straight to the vet in the morning for a check up but just wondered if anyone has any idea what this might be and is it something I've done that may have caused it? I've had them a week and up until now they've been fine (although the way their fur is the bald patches are well hidden so may have been developing for longer - I've not seen any scratching before today but he could've been doing it when I've not been watching).

As you can probably tell I'm really worried, especially if it's something I've done as I've been trying so hard to do everything right. I dis mean to take them to the vet straight away when I got them but couldn't get an appointment and because they seemed fine and I've had a lot on this week I thought I'd give them a week to settle and was going to take them next week.

Any words of wisdom here would be greatly appreciated, thanks

P.s. I just remembered they left half their veggies as well tonight which was a tad unusual for them.

Thank you so much! I might still take them to the vet just in case, he has been scratching and his bald patches are bigger than his brother's (although he is bigger than his brother!) They need a wee check-up at some point anyway :)

Thanks for putting my mind at rest though - I might just be able to sleep now if I can't get them there til Monday afternoon!
