Can Stanley pass his uti onto Luna. she was in season, so they were getting it on all morning yesterday and its worried me.

Also, can a uti cause soft, mishapen poop?

Urine infection can occasionally be transmitted, as it is bacterial; but you cannot treat preventatively.

UTI and antibiotics can both cause soft poos. Baytril is well known for it. The poos shold firm up again by themselves eventually.

I'm starting to bloody hate baytril. I'm always a bag of nerves when I have to give them it. They're always wonky and sickly seeming for a while after it, keeping me on edge. Lol. X

You can bolster their immune system by giving some extra vitamin C during and after and some fibreplex during the medication.

Yea I give giving them their oxbow vit c hay cubes and fibreplex. .The fibreplex syringes are annoying, they only have 13 doses, which isn't even enough for a weeks course for one pig and cost £13! Pfft! Lol

@Wiebke just jumping on to quickly thank you for your advice about stanleys UTI and the septrin and dosing,
I went to the vet and told her everything you had said and she gave me the dose you recommended of septrin for a fortnight.
Also, Mr casanova did pass it on to Luna with his powers of seduction so she's on the exact same too now!

So thanks alot for your help
They're already seeming a little brighter & we have solid poops! & i've noticed no gurlgy stomachs from him so far!
