Getting a vaccine in Ontario, Canada, has been a freaking nightmare... it's been limited to 60 and up, now my area is designated as a hot zone and they will vaccinate 50 and up, but have pop-up clinics that will vaccinate anyone 18+ who lives in the region. So a pop-up clinic finally showed up and I got up at the crack of dawn to book appointments for me, my husband, and my son (the other two kids are under 18 so have to wait.) Wouldn't you know it, I got all our info submitted and my son and my husband got confirmation e-mails and I got NOTHING. No confirmation, no e-mail telling me it's full. Like they never even received my application, like it just disappeared into the ether. Tried to phone and confirm but the number has been shut down due to volume. So tomorrow morning I am going to drive down to the clinic and see if they will scan my health card and tell me if I have an appointment but didn't get my confirmation or if they never received my form and hence I don't have an appointment. I'm so frustrated. Our health care system is running out of capacity, I'm terrified of getting sick and not being able to get care. It's a hot mess here right now and I'm so upset that the rest of my family who is eligible got confirmed and I didn't.

That sounds really frustrating! Hopefully there was just a glitch in the system and you are fine to get your vaccine without any problems.

Oh no that’s so frustrating and very annoying. I hope you do have an appointment and you just didn’t get confirmation. It’s a scary situation. Stay safe.

They didn't get my info. My husband and son are getting vaccinated and I'm not even in the system yet! Plus my younger two kids are not included in this rollout, even though one is 16 and thus eligible to be vaccinated.

It's so frustrating... I feel like we are being hung out to dry. We had low numbers for a long time and then the government pushed reopenings in the face of growing variants... now there is a chance that they will be triaging people and letting them die because we lack ICU space within the next few weeks. It was all so predictable and all so avoidable and the choices made put us in this spot.

I'm lucky in that we work from home so we are more protected than people who have to go out to offices or sales or construction. But I'm so disappointed that I can't get vaccinated, I just didn't want to be scared anymore. :( I'm glad they're getting my son, though. As a mom that makes me feel better.

So sorry this has happened to you. Being scared is so horrible and draining. I hope you are able to be vaccinated soon

Thanks everyone. It is frustrating because the US right next door has so many vaccines that they are sitting unused, and we are all scrabbling for what we can get. It sucks that I'm eligible for a vaccine based on living in a place with high transmission but can't get one because there just aren't enough!

Finally good news... I am booked for a vaccine for a week from Friday! My application must have gone somewhere, as they seem to have tracked it down! I'm very relieved... at least it will keep me from stressing when I have to go and get groceries and stuff, although we will still be a long way from living normally here. :)

Now just need to wait for them to roll out vaccines for my 16-year-old and 14-year-old!
