Stopped off at the supermarket on the way home tonight to stock up as the snow is getting deeper. I am confident on what to feed the bunnies - I have had them such a long time now, I think it is just that the piggies are so young. Three of them are between 6 - 9 weeks old and the other one is 14 weeks old, so I am worried about upsetting their little tummies.

I am slowly increasing their veg but one of the babies is there before the rest and I am sure she is eating more than her fair share! So far they have had a little bit of courgette, bell pepper (no seeds) mange toute, green beans, spring greens & kale (minute amount), little bit of apple, celery, cucumber, carrots, broccoli - they love it all!

Tonight I have brought home some green beans, a courgette, a some broccoli - mostly for the chooks, carrots, peppers and cucumber but I have also brought home a bag of mixed salad which contains:

Lollo rosso - 35%
frisee - 20%
red chard - 15%
spinach - 15%
Mizuna - 15%

do you think it will be ok to give them some of this? Otherwise I shall eat it myself!

Also do you think a good combination of veg is? I eat lots of veg so shall be sharing the above with them!

The lettuce mix is fine, I hope they enjoy it! I would love to be able to buy red chard especially on its own - maybe something to consider growing myself this year.

They have a brilliant variety of veg...and so do you, from the sound of it. :))

You are fine to give it - spinach should be more of a very occasional treat and not part of regular diet (too high in calcium).

But it's good to try all kinds of different foods while they are so young and inquisitive, and your piggies have a great variety to eat!

PS: You always get some that are just into food... Quite often, they won't end up as leaders, though, as one of smaller, but brighter ones will take over and run the show!
